We all lost a brother yesterday, someone very passionate, fun and giving to the mountain bike culture and community of BC.

Carey Bokser of Nelson, Freeride Entertainment, NRG, and Oso Negro tragically lost his life yesterday in a skiing accident.

Please, take a moment to remember one of the good guys.

We'll miss you Carey. Your spirit and legacy is strong.

That's terrible, I've ridden and skiied with Carey before and he had a passion for both that made me stoked to ride too. Condolences to his family and friends.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Carey, but it always sends a shiver down my spine when I hear of guys n' gals getting injured or worse, doing what they love best; especially as close to home as this.

Plain old shitty.
From what I've been told he didn't suffer, and he was out with friends doing what he enjoyed. Small consolation to those left behind though.

RIP.

I remember I was probably 2 km ahead of my lazy buddies last summer riding up kokanee. I'm sitting there waiting for them and then they just rip by in Carey's truck. He stopped and fit 3 more bikes into his already bike filled truck and gave them a lift.

He was a super nice guy and definetly did not deserve to die. He lives a block away from my house and I feel sick I every time I look over there.

with total respect to carey , what were the circumstances ? any thing we could learn from ?

He tomahawked hummer face. Its a no fall zone completely visible from the lodge. It took 25 minutes for help to arrive and at that point he wasn't breathing. It was a scary day up there...

the incident made the CAA info-ex and although i didn't read it , usually if it makes the info-ex , it is avalanche related .

i know the hummer trees from years ago , and i do remember the terrain above the traverse was definitely in the " must make " category . . . .

Bokser, my good friend. I shouldn't have to be writing this. What a solid guy, friend, father, husband and so much more. I'll always remember the times we shared. See you soon.

I didn't know him, not even close. What do you say about someone who has inspired you (indirectly, but importantly) so much, but you don't even know him? What else is there but condolences and deep seeded respect?

Rest in peace, bro. Hope to spin the pedals with you on the other side.
