Maybe this will make most people happy now.

Props to Cam and NSMB for being flexible!

"After much discussion - even more than last week - we have decided to amend the rules yet again and hopefully for the last time. Looking for something ironclad I consulted a few amateur shooters I know who take really nice images. I asked them how many times they had been published and each of them could count the images they had published on one hand. My original thought was to say that if you had published 10 images you wouldn't be eligible for our little contest - at least from here on in. One of the amateurs thought this was too tight because you might get 10 shots published in one go if you sell images for a feature article.

So here it is. If you have sold more than five campaigns to print publications you are not considered an amateur in the eyes of Money Shot. Each campaign can have multiple images but if for example you sold a photo used for an ad and another used in a story in the same magazine that would count as two campaigns. One story with 5 images counts as one campaign.

I think it should only be open to people that have never submitted anything. That is a true amateur.

Good (the right) decision.

I think it should *only* be open to people that have never submitted anything. That is a true amateur.

alas, not everyone can be pleased. frankly i thought these rules were pretty harsh as it is.

Its good to know that Cam and the rest of NSMB.com are working their butts off to make things fair. My own, uneducated opinion is that the modifications introduce yet more interpretation into the contest. Hopefully nobody in a "grey area of interpretation" (eg 5 MTB campaigns, but published in motocross, BMX, road racing mags and a string of paid contracts for Nissan, Subaru, CitiBank, Volkswagen and Mountain Dew, living on an income trust fund set up by dad :damn: ) will be chosen the winner and that will be it for controversy. I still think there should be an open big-prize contest for Pros and a fun contest for Bros. Now I'll shut the hell up by thanking Cam, NSMB.com and all the photographers for sharing their great moments with the rest of us.

Props on the decision. Hopefully there won't be any more controversy. I feel sorry to Martin and Ian for getting bumped like that...

I'm hoping Cam posts up a photo of a Water Buffalo's nutsack as week 4's winner as a big tip of the hat to the BB denizens - imagine the controversy.

Agreed. Shouldn't be about making people happy, but about the right decision.

We could just avoid the contoversy next week, by choosing my photo. I have never had anything published and I assure you my photo is rad!:P
