Sprockids Shoreriders 2006

This year Sprockids will have a sweet line up of rides all over the shore and Squamish. Sprockids is a non-profit club that helps youth riders develop skills and confidence in their riding. It is for riders aged 8-18 that are already interested and are somewhat experienced in riding the shore. The rides will be led by Hoots Jay, Cory Leclerc and Wade Simmons among other great coaches. The sign up day will be Sunday, Feb. 26 from 11 am to 3 pm at Ontop Bike Shop at 3051 Lonsdale Ave. in North Van. For more info call 604-983-6444 ext. 567. Yo get paired up with people of your skill level and its usually fairly even groups( everybody goes the same speed)

And if you turn 19 in may? I don't think Claire wuold mind (claire organizes shoreriders) but I would suggest calling the hotline to make sure. Or you can come by Ontop on Sunday!

It is amazing how far Sprockids has gone across the world and the mountain biking scene. I remember when Doug Detwieller started it up on the Coast back in the day when I was in elementary school. Sprockids sure got a lot of kids interested in mountain biking and racing for the sheer fun of it.

I spoke to Claire the other day, and she said the 1st ride is at Blair Range on Mar 26, I think at 10:30. You can sign up then. She also said the interest needs to ramp up a bit.
