Andrew, I think I know where that is. We pretty much rode past it last Friday. Maybe for next weeks ride we can go back to that area and session it while Seamus takes more pics. Just need Jake to get his seat fixed so he has no excuses for the "ride" up.

I was going to hit digger's drop this april, but the trany is too short, flat and rocky so me and my homies are going to hit the brutic drop on cypress this spring.

mattj
02-23-2006, 11:33 PM
I think it needs a couple of wheelbarrows of dirt on it to make the tranny good. It's eroding badly and it's flatter and rockier than when people hit it.

tis about 18 feet...and the runout is long, its the silly short tranny that makes it a very "interesting" drop. Not my cup of tea, but those who I have seen hit it don't seem to mind the tranny, the run in/out, or anything else...they just send it, and continue up the road.

seand is right, digger drop (isn´t it actually called digger´s rock?) is 6 meters high, according to the german Freeride-magazine (and Germans are usually veeeery exact). It seems that people always exaggerate to make it sound a lot more extreme. As far as I know, the biggest drop so far was the roadgap by Darren Berrecloth in NWD5 - about 44 ft., followed by Dunne and Bourdon in NWD 6 (about 40 ft.). But even 6 meters or 18 ft. is extremely high and I respect everyone who even attempted that drop.

I saw a guy hit Diggers drop a couple years ago. Genius was sooo good that he didn't need armour!

I then watched him push his bike up the side of the rock and tuck his knee cap back in under the flap of skin that was bleeding pretty good. Yuck!!!

Moral of the story - duh.

I hit it back in december, never again. Dented my front rim, finished off my rear hub. I did land it but it hurt, vitals hit the seat pretty hard. I imagine if the tranny was a lot taller and steep it might be pretty good. Hiking out is fun too:S

Hey I know you, I saw you when you were hiking back out of it. Unfortunately, you had done it with out me seeing it, too bad. Did you dent you rim because you said that it sounded like you rim broke but I thought it was okay. Wow, the trany is crap!
