I wanna get a new skid lid but I hate how they make me look like a big mushroom are there any low profile helmuts around? (open face, full facei think is over kill on a hardtail)
ps: been a long time since i started a thread in hear.

i had the same problem as you. The only one that doesnt make me look like a mushroom (and trust me, i looked around ALOT) is a helmet made by Triple Eight. But, for what its worth, they arent made for bike riding of any sort.

giro has like 3 diff models of skid lids out now... should check em out.. flak makai and Faction

661 mullet.. not completely round.. and plus.. free warranty replacement.. i dont think there is limit.. i got my lid replaced twice..by the company..

I second chunk's recommendation. I have the same one, by far the most comfortable skid lid I've ever put on, looks good and not goofy.

i have one that i use for both snowboarding and riding, i think its a pro-tec or something. that one posted above is pretty sweet.

helmets are for pussies.
If your being serious thats a stupid thing to say without helmet i and many others probably would have occured some pretty serious brain damage or even died, this may seem a bit extreme but its that lonly thing between the ground and your head which has saved my head so many a time, i would NEVER not ride without helmet.

skate helmets are not meant for the impacts from bike riding. They have sponge liners instead of extruded foam, and the shells are normally softer.
I normally run a Giro SemiMX which rocks

pro tec ace helmet with the soft thick foam instead of styrofoam makes for suucch a comfy non badlooking helmet and only 60 bucks at most places.
