Ok, anyone out there w/ the 888rc2x. I've read the manual and maybe
i'm just getting senile butttt.
there are two red knobs on top of each leg that are compression
there is a black knob on the left that is compression
there is a red knob on the bottom of the right leg that is compression
the only one I'm sure how to set is the black one on the right which is rebound
So, i'm suppossed to tighten the two red knobs to set sag?
Then what is the black on the left leg do (low speed compression?)
And the one on the bottom is high speed compression?
I thought I had it kinda figured out but I kept bottoming out my dhx rear, which
I haven't touched since before I took off my monster (no bottoming w/ the
monster-same shock-same setup).
I need the help...so help pleeeease?

Ok, so maybe nobody knows...
After re-reading and re-reading, I think I've figured it our for those
of you getting a rc2x or have one and are in the same boat.
1-The two big red knobs on top are the preload adjust for sag
30% DH/FR that's 2.4 inches! I went w/ 1.75" so we'll see
2-The red knob on the bottom right leg is low speed compression
dampening
Set for plush, stiff or less bob while pedaling. I think I'll have
to set it out on the trail
3- The black knob on the top of the left leg is the bottom out or
high speed dampening
That would be for bottom out resistance, so I'll have to see
how far up the ziptie is at the end of a run
4- Of course the rebound is just that.
Going for a ride, I've reset all the compression adjustments based on all
of that, so I should have a plush fork that doesn't bottom out when I'm
finished.
Of course, by the time I get it dialed I'll have to change the oil and it'll
mess up the compression again. ha!
I think I got confuse because the manual covers all the marz forks from air
to oil bath, from z1's to monsters. They should just put out a pamphlet for
each fork and maybe give more information on set up. Or, at least give as
much information on setup and tuning as they do the warnings. Have the
book is warnings (this is a dangerous sport, don't modify, etc).

I just took mine for their 1st ride yesterday. Overall they were very nice. Soaked up everything & and you can really carry your speed. The only thing is that they unexpectedly dove into the travel a couple times. Need to figure out how to prevent/minimize that.

i think u can minimize that diving into the travel by turning the buy-a-boxxer-instead red knob. i bet u didn't find that? just kidding with u JZ. :D

I weigh 185 so I think I need bigger springs. I've got my bottom out compression
set on 14 clicks (out of 26), it seemed to help. The low speed compression
is on the bottom right leg, I don't have too much on that 6 clicks. I think
I'll turn up the bottom out a couple and the lower leg up 5 or 6 to see if
that helps.

2nd day on the fork today and I'm really loving it. Time will tell but so far, so good. And so plush! I seem to have solved the diving thing with a couple of clicks of the low speed compression. Man this fork is so forgiving, guys. It saved my ass at least once today. Anyway - I haven't been riding much this year but already I'm going bigger on this fork than I ever have before. Very confidence inspiring. It really balances it the Demo quite nicely.
Peachy B - I was torn between the 888 RC2x and the 06 WC (unproven, IMO) but so far I am very happy with my choice. I wanted a low maintenance "set it and forget it" fork this time.

Johnny,
how much do you weigh and how many clicks on the low speed?

Johnny,
how much do you weigh and how many clicks on the low speed?
I weigh about 155-160 lbs. with gear.
Here's the settings I'm starting with. These are working pretty good for me but they may change as I play with the fork more and once it breaks in...
-3 clicks low speed compression (out of 8)
-15 clicks rebound (out of 24, I think)
-12 clicks high speed compression (out of 24, I think)
-4 clicks on each preload (since it also reduces air volume, I am not entirely sure about how this one changes the feel. I may not need any preload at all but 4 clicks seemed like a good place to start.)
