Russ Hay’s Bike Shop, one of Canada’s biggest and most established bike shops, is expanding and looking for experienced sales and mechanical staff as well as a shipper/receiver. A minimum two years of bike shop experience is required. Only serious applicants with a desire for long term employment need apply. Resumes and cover letters can be sent to info@russhays.com.

Take advantage of this opportunity to move to Canada’s cycling capital!

I would apply. but I dont have the 2 years of experience. and why would you need 2 years to do shipping and recieving? and as far as sales go. as long as you know your bikes fairly well, why would you need 2 years? you learn as you go, same as any other job. I dunno I just think the experience should only apply to working on bikes in the shop. Im not a fan of russ hays anyways.

Im guessing that they are doing that so that the person who applies will want to stay at the job and can actually commit. They are looking for someone pretty much full time Im guessing and they dont want someone working there full time that doesnt know how to sell, help customers and know how to act towards them. It seems deterring for a new comer to try to get a good job at a shop, but it comes with time and knowledge. Im sure that if someone applied with no experience, the shop would probably give them a chance to learn, maybe not full time, but part time.
ps. Iam not a fan of Russ Hayes either. They have hired people in the past that knew next to nothing. Good place to go if you want good prices and a specific thing, but bad place for labour.

Whoever snags that job will be very lucky. Best Shop I have ever been into, very knowledgeable staff, can't say enough about the shop.

Its a really nice shop, a couple things are kinda pricey(clothing, armour etc..) but they know what they are doing. I actually need to go down and let them fiddle with my VPS, it needs some help. If I had 2 years experiance and a place to live down there id apply but yeah.
