Jim Paavila (one of our board directors) had a chance to speak with the mayor of West Van regarding mountain biking on Cypress.
This is what Jim had to say after the fact:
When I asked what it would take to allow even
discussions about re-opening Cypress for riding, they said: "Not
before they were given proof that there would be no liability to the
City / District and that there would be no damage to the
environment."
They also were Not Interested in talking with a group of people who
don't live in their area. We not only need to find one local volunteer,
we will need to find a group of them
can they get any lower? can they not even have a discussion about re-opening trails....its one thing if they dont want to open them again but refusting to even consider talking about it?
