Are there any other ladies on here that bmx as well? Perhaps a little park, some dirt jumps? Maybe even flatland? I ride mostly dirt right now, with some park thrown in when I travel to Vernon.

Ya are the ladies on the coast still hitting up the skateparks?
I know last year there was a huge turn out to the womens bmx clinic at the Abbotsford indoor and everyone was planning trips to Woodyard.

How was the track this season?
And Janelle- Do you know what's going on with the Cycling Bc bmx program with Larrisa and Kevin leaving? Are you helping out now?

I beleive that Adam Muys will be the new BMX go to guy. He's at CBC today. It sounds as tho there may be some talk of a 4x series as well...just talk so far.
There is a lot of movement of people in BMX, but it is all very positive. This is the first time that CBC will actually have a full time specific person for BMX, and that will be such a huge positive step for BC's BMX to have someone concentrate solely on the growth.
Good things will happen, especially with the development of new tracks, combined with all the years of experience that the other tracks offer.
As for me, I can help as much as I can with BMX, but I'm definitely not a key player.

Our new track is needing some guidance as we go into our first full season. Will Adam be availble for input soon? Are you also CBC full time now?

Adam will be officially here for input on January 2nd. I'm a CBC full timer too!

sport development; but I can help with most Club and Team Q's as well. Kevin MacCuish is the new MTB guy, and Sarah Garnett is the new office manager.

Hey Girls,
I seen this thread and thought I'd join in.
4X anyrace day if enough show (min.3) we will make a 4x race.
Starting next wed. 7-10 Chris from "no hype bikes" will be running a 4X series at indoor.
check our schedule for all the dates. He has some different ideas as to make it a little more indicative of a 4x like putting obstacles out on the track. If any of you have any ideas as to make indoor more what you would like to see, just ask .
Friday we build the next track (equipment starts at 8am and by 5 it should look like a bmx track)
As soon as possible we will announce the women's only clinic.
please feel free to pm me .
or just yak it up when you see me wandering around the indoor.
Cycling needs more women and anything we can do here ,we will.

Well this forum is a great start. We have an outlet to get some ladies to commit to some 4X races or some indoor bmx races. Make sure to post any ideas you have for events and we'll try to get a turn out for you.

i'd love to come out for 4x, but unfortunately it's a bit too far of a drive for a weeknight, i'd never get there in time. too bad you don't run it on sundays :( it's something i've always wanted to try

Lady Gravity,
we do run 4X sundays.
any time enough show (3min) we will gladly run 4x .
Look up our schedule and you will see fri night racing /sat night/ sunday morning11am race we are done by 1pm and leave the track open for riders to ride.
Anyone who is not into racing can come out say sun. and after 1pm-4/5? pay $5 bring any bike ,reg. helmut and ride,no license required.
If you girls can organize certain weekends ,I am sure you can make it work.
Just talked to a friend in Quebec (Remember Hugo Donais) and he is coming back to race and is back racing . I had e-mailed him earlier and told him it seemed quiet around here without him. sweeet.

For sure! Last time I did that, little Paige(11 or 12 years old) kicked my ass!!! It was so cool.
She was so polite and encouraging; after the race she says to me 'Good race, you have a really good gate.'
Haha! Yeah, if I could only keep up to her...

Come on girls get the bike, and get out here.
No real life but biking? tonight thursday is practice.
friday after 7pm racing.
saturday racing at 6pm and on and on
till the midnight moto to bring in the new year ,
same as last year. Last year seen little kids riding till 4am,while I was fast asleep by 1am,kids eh?
parents ?? how can anyone let little kickers stay up that late? bike crazy get used to it. Sleep overs allowed inside the arena ,some parents bring the motor home ,some slept up in the bleachers ,with blankets.
Totally outrageous, but this is what makes up the best memories.
racing this sunday at 1pm then we start taking down the track till jan 20th.
ABBOTSFORD INDOOR is one of a kind. and one of only two indoor tracks in Canada. We open early stay open late and are committed to families.
Bring your kids.

I would suggest coming to the Women's Clinic (February 4th), then trying your hand at racing after the clinic. It is a little bit intimidating going to a regular night and lining up on the gate at first...if you don't have a background in BMX or 4x. On the flip side of that, the BMX track is really a supportive place for first timers! There are so many people that are willing to help, so what ever weekend you decide to attend I'm sure will be fine!
I would think that after the clinic, the women's feild will be a little larger than usual, so a bit more support in that sense too.

I was one of the lucky ones that got to take advantage of the abby bmx practice night. The new track is in good shape and a lotta fun. 4x is wednesday and myself and a couple of other "ladies" are heading out to give it a try for the first time. Hope to see some more of you out there!

I was out that way on Sat night to scope things out - I was really impressed with the entire scene. The people were super friendly and welcoming, and the track is looking dialed!
