thats a sweet looking bike, what kind of frame is that?

It's essentially a Titus RacerX modified to accomodate a 4 inch travel fork before Titus started to make the Racer100.

It's actually an Edge Icarus from Edge Cycles in Fruita!

In lieu of a wedding ring Lee bought me a wedding bike! Which is why it is gold...

Kona really got the styling down on that bike. Hawt! The only thing I would change is the silver wheelset. A black wheelset would complete that bike.

I'll be keeping this bike because I at least have a hope of pedalling it uphill (even though single ring).

And for the pushes, shuttles and Whistler, my new Giant...
http://www3.telus.net/karaleen/misc%20riding/kgiant-1.jpg
It now has a straight (Thompson Elite) seatpost and a smaller seat.

Once the bank account has recovered it would be nice to get something a little lighter (my bullit is 42lbs and the giant is 45+lbs). Oh, and a bmx bike would be fun, and a dirt jumper... the list goes on.

Yup, 04 Super T. I finally put some soft springs in it and wow - what a difference. Sure helps the riding when you get proper performance from the fork! I'm going to be sure to put soft springs in my Dorado as soon as the fork is broken in.

Hey SparkPlug, I rode the giant this past year and if you want a couple tips to lighten the whole bike or soften your dorado lemme know.

Any tips would be awesome. So far the only thing I've done is take all the pivot bolts out and put loctight on them. I heard there was a problem with them coming loose. I was thinking of taking the fork to a friend who works at OGC - he was suggesting softer springs and a compression and rebound upgrade. I'm 5'2 1/2" (gotta get that 1/2 in there!) - 125 lbs so any set up tips would be great!

cheryl@nsmb.com
02-07-2006, 02:56 PM
Ya I am a shorty too! I definately used softer springs in my Dorado. Get them from OGC for sure. I ran a fairly soft spring(300) on the rear shock and then used my chamber for some extra bottoming support. Once I had it set the way I liked it I was stoked! The only time I get into trouble is when I am coming off a skinny and I decompress the rear shock. I end up pretty straddled over the top tube, but you lucky ducks have the newer sloped top tube.

Love it, looks very cool! The linkage plates are awesome.

I still have my orange and green stinky with a super t on it. Ugly as hell but has a ton of miles on it because it was so versatile. I used it for my first season of DH, xc'd on it, and learned how to do stunts and jumps on it.

Hope yours gives you as much love as mine has for the last 4 years :).

Ramirifika

Duplicate them on your computer and resave them with less info. Less pixles or something like that. I dont really know much about computers, but sometimes I seem to be able to figure out stuff I dont understand. Well, maybe that's no help at all!!! But good luck anyway!

Hey I think I figured out how to post attachements :rocker:

So here is the story of my bikes...

At first, I so wanted to start doing dh riding, I bought myself a hardtail because I didn't have enough $$ to buy a dh bike. So I bought a really good Hardtail: Taillefer Zarma Jump :) for summer 2003

Then, during the year 2004, I got into looking over hold classified bikes and bought a nice cannondale gemini frame size small :rocker: . I was so happy when I bought the frame, it was *mint* no scraches at all!!!! *Damn the frame was soooo pretty without scratches!! hehe*

I put the bike together, with an old junior T old school :) You can see how it looked :) I was so stocked to ride it, i went outside and rode it in urban area even if it was snowing outside :)

Then, in summer 2005, I upgraded my bike with a Manitou sherman slider plus :) :) :) Love it!!! After a few weeks, my rear shox finaly arrived and I upgraded my blowed romic (the guy that sold me the bike sold me a blowed romic, but I had no way to know this before I put the bike together.. sad but true, next frame I buy: i buy new!!) for a Manitou 3ways. I also got new headset :) fsa pig dh :) and I'll need to change the BB probably this year because I got caught riding downhill and my crank stripped off, the crank on right side literally fell from my bike while I was riding dh.... not just the pedal, the WHOLE crank!!!.. but luckyly for me, it was smooth/easy section of the trail and I didn't crash! ouf!!

Now, I just can't wait to go riding again!!!!!! and be muddy again!!!!

oh and I also have a Giant atx 890 2001 for xc riding :) It got my fox vanilla R that was on my taillefer on it :) And most of the parts for my gemini came from my Taillefer (I sold the frame in order to get the sherman and rear manitou shox). Biking rules :rocker: I want more bikes! hehe

02-13-2006, 06:17 PM
P.S. Do any of you know how to prevent your roack knee pad to scratch all around your frame??? My frame is soooo scratched because of my roach pads!! But I prefer being protected and scratching my frame than receiving a pedal or a rock on a knee/caft/leg and be hurt!!

cheryl@nsmb.com
02-13-2006, 06:38 PM
You can use that wicked 3M stickers on those areas of your frame to save it.

I also have a Cove Stiffee FR that's kinda in pieces because Smoke poached some parts from it. I hope to have it running soon, I need a through axle front hub for the new forks I have waiting for it and then the ole One Speed will roll once again!!
There is a vintage 420 frame lurking in my attic.......

If you are serious, check out the work of Bryan Woo. He does awesome stuff. His wife has one of the prettiest bikes I've ever seen on the shore. In fact, I've just commissioned him into doing my helmet this week. I am so stoked to get rid of the ugly MadMax stock colours and get something original on my helmet, and not just by adding a few stickers.

so the weather is starting to get warmer and the days are getting longer but I am up in Northern BC and there is still tons of snow here - I am dying to get back on my bikes - I try to pass the winter by snowboarding and XC skiing but it is just not the same -- I think a trip down south is in order

oh my bikes - I have pictures on my home computer but right now I am "working" - so I will have to post the pics later...

I have a Banshee scratch for jumping
a banshee shirocco with a Z150- for XC and 4X
and a Norco six with a 66 for freeride - and I am just about to order a new cove shocker for DH this year .... I think a couple of those bikes will have to go... it is getting a little out of hand.

Okay my bikes ... I just added one ... now I'm up to five. Crazy.

I don't have pictures of all of them but I will try my best to link to them...

My newest addition is a bmx. I heart it. Its so fun and makes me realize how many bad habits I've picked up through mountain biking.

It's a Hoffman Rythym EL2.

Then I own a Balfa BB7. I've just had it repainted ... and its beautiful ... I'm rebuilding it tomorrow after work and I'm so excited!! I just bought a Boxxer World Cup for it - so its going to be hella hot.

And then I have a Brodie Romax ... I never would have guessed I would own a road bike let alone wear spandex - but hey shit happens! Its so fun zipping down the road at mach 10 ... and its also nice because you can easily ride alone (harder to dh or xc alone).

And finally (other than my beater which doesn't really count because it was free) I have an old Brodie Electro which was the bike that got me hooked and has resulted in my current addiction. It is baby poo brown and I love it. It hasn't seen the daylight in quite sometime though - I've been neglecting it... I feel guilty and I'm sure it will be mad at me when I do pull it out of the basement!
