Hey Ladies!
So let's start off by getting to know who is on the boards and where are you from? I think this forum is a great way to meet some new female riders in your area and plan some some rides.
I am from Kamloops BC and I love to ride fast descents like Rose Hill, Sunpeaks and Jamison. I also like to jump at our bike park.
Hello!!!!
I live in Calgary at the moment...I like to ride at C.O.P. and Fernie! I'll be moving to Thunder Bay soon...Hopefully I can find some fun stuff to ride there too! I hear there are a few mountains and some decent riding accross the border.
I'm a fan of DH and the odd stunt. Trying to get better at DJs too!

Hey-ya! I live in the Cove, ride the shore, live, breath and work biking! Super keen on doing more women's rides - just had a get together at my house that had 15 ripper chix on the shore, and then we had awesome food and drinks, and partied into the night with another 20 or so girls joining in on the fun!!! It was so cool to get to hang out and meet other ladies that share common interests and goals. I've never ridden with such a talented crew of women all at once. I can't wait to do it again.
Nice work C and S!!! I think this forum is a cool idea! I'm in the midst of sorting out some plans to do a ladies ski/snowboard get away at Mt Washington in February with my friends at Endless Biking. I'll keep you ladies posted on the details if (any of) you would like to join us! Ladies that is :)
Should we plan a ride soon or what!?!

Hi!
I live in North Vancouver. I've lived in the Lower Mainland all my life. I've ridden these trails since 1991 and now I volunteer with the NSMBA to ensure they will still be around after I can no longer pedal a bike!
NSMBA (http://www.nsmba.bc.ca/cms)
My husband, Lee Lau, and I do a lot of bike trips in BC, Alberta, Washington, Utah, Colorado and other states. We have seen a lot of areas and ridden a lot of trails and marvel at how lucky we are to have the trails we have.
Check out our site! (http://www.leelau.net/index2005.htm)
we ski a lot too.

I am so sad I missed that party. I looked like a blast. We have a pretty sweet crew of girls out here in the interior too. I am sure there are tons I don't even know yet!

That's exactly why I held that shin dig! I met quite a few ladies that I'd seen or heard about, but never spoken to or ridden with. It was so cool! Ladies came down from Nelson, up from the California...definitely a weekend that goes in the history books. You'll have to attend the next one!

And you'll have to come up here some other time to enjoy our interior hospitality. Meet some of the ladies in the interior. I am sure you must know Karly Marshall, Jamie Pellizon and Tera Meade already?

I'd love to come ride in Kamloops more! I know Karly and Tera, I'm not sure if I've met Jamie, but you never know 'cause i can be a cadet when it comes to remembering names. Karly was sportin my best friends x-race (Giant) bike all year, and it looked good on her! I saw her rip it up at some BC Cups and she was always smiling no matter what. I know Schroeter would love to do a road trip with me to the Loops, if we can tear her off a race course or away from her Physics text books this year...

anyone have any info on the riding in Thunder Bay for SRH?
From what I hear...there are only a few female riders in the TB. They are more into XC though.
I'll have to make some serious road trips to come and see Cheryl and the rest of you girls over the summer to get my fix ;)

Ya you'd remember Jamie, she is on of the original Kamloops lady rippers.

On that note... I'm Jamie, I ride lots with Cheryl and Karly here in Kamloops, but I don't have a nice Giant DH to play on... I love riding and living here, but I'm always up for exploring new territory so it's sure nice to have this forum up to get us all connected. Thanks for the heads up Cheryl!

Hey ladies, I am a new import to Kamloops, orginally from Dartmouth, N.S. Came to the loops to ride. Love RoseHill and the Peaks. There was only one other girl that I rode dh with in N.S, I was blown away when I came here, and my first ride Cheryl took me out with like 4 other ladies. Sweet!
Oh! Scooter...hee hee...Is that like Scooter from the muppets?
How are things with you? Did you have a nice summer?

I liked his rope-like orange hair!

I know of some other girls heading down to Sea Otter too. Are you racing XC or DH down there, or both?

Hi all,
I live in Ottawa. A bit far from you gals - but I am planning a trip to visit this summer! I keep hearing about how amazing the riding is and finally this year I get to see it with my own eyes! As you can tell from my signature I'm one of the Gravitesse riders ... I can't wait for the season to start - I'm definitely jealous of those of you who can still ride outside!
Ps. Hi Linds and Dan!!

Hi folks,
I live on the North Shore and have been mountain biking for about 3 years. I only started riding on Fromme and Seymour a lot this past year and it's been so much fun! I would consider myself beginner-intermediate and am not what you'd call "a ripper" but I love to get out and ride new stuff!
I am getting my first dual suspension bike this year and I am VERY excited about it!
I'm really happy that this forum started because it's given me the motivation to start communicating on the boards.
Cheers!

Yeah that's what I'm hoping! I've ridden a friend udally a couple of times and it ROCKS!
I'm actually originally from Kamloops (well, born and raised there) but was not into riding when I lived there. Now that I have moved away I'm hearing about great riding there! I've ridden at Sun Peaks a few times and it was great and also Rose Hill which is fairly near my parents place. I've also heard that Harper Ranch has some cool riding. My husband and I are planning to head to the interior for a little biking trip this summer, and I was wondering if there were any maps or guides to riding in the area, or if you could suggest places we should definitely check out while there.
:)

What would be your top 3 (or 5 if you can't narrow it down) places to ride (probably DH only) keeping in mind its a flight into Vancouver ... and with maybe (I'm being generous here) two weeks ...
cheryl@nsmb.com

Kamloops, Williams Lake, Whistler, Kelowna, Silverstar in Vernon.

1. Whistler first - to get warmed up, and jumping.
2. Squamish - to make you feel like a SUPER STAR!!!
3. Vancouver - to put you in check again. Seymour, Fromme, Cypress. In that order.
4. Kamloops or Williams Puddle - to pick up the speed again, and tear it up..
5. Nelson - to end the best BC tour EVER - Nelson has some amazing riding, and an even better mtb community!

Hey - my name is Kerensa - I am from BC (Vancouver) but last year I spent some time living in Ottawa. I met lots of great women to ride with and I tried some racing. I really loved being in Ottawa but I also started missing the BC mountains and I really got tired of spending all day in my cubicle and so I decided to go back to school - so now I am doing my masters at UNBC - and I am almost done - this summer I am going to South Africa to do some fieldwork and I am planning on racing some races there - and then who knows. I also plan to try and do a few races here in BC before I leave -
- there is tons of snow up here still and I am dying to get on my bike. I think a road trip to Vancouver is in order - how is Kamloops ? is anything rideable there yet ? I think I could drive down south the first weekend in april ???
