I have a new Magma and if I take the rear shock off the rear end will stay in the extended position. It actually takes some effort to make it move with no shock in there. Is this normal for Devinci? I assume there is some break in needed but I've had a Jekyll, Gemini, G Spot and they have had buttery smooth pivots right away. I don't even need a SPV shock because I've got SPV pivots, HA.
I've checked the pivot bolts and they aren't tight, the're about the same as my Gemini.

Devincis use needle bearings which have more friction (for lack of a better word) than catridge ball bearings. It seems to be the nature of needle bearings from what I can tell. Take the swingarm off and rotate them with your fingers and see if they roll freely. It sounds like you're doing it right by not overtightening the bolts, that's important.

They should incorporate grease nipples for those needle bearings, like Turner bikes. Every ride I squeeze in fresh grease.

That would be nice, although these bearings last a helluva long time. You can get grease to last a while in there.
Like wayne says the pivots need very little attention, and stay tight for a loooong time, but between the needle bearings and the bushing/washers between frame material, the rear end does feel some sticktion...that is all lost when riding these bikes. Lateral stiffness is also really good. I suggest to grease your pivots with a heavy grease every 4 to 6 months. One of the main reasons i have my ollie is for the durability.

Scott, your intelligence is dumbfounding.
All jokes aside, if you're in the area and need Rock Shox or Devinci help, Scott knows more tidbits than anybody in the World.
Where's my DHX Air?
Wayne, if you want a DHX air, let me know they have them in stock!
