I think forks having a lot of adjustments.. lately is limiting people from combining frame and fork..

On my brother's 250 the topcap of the sherman hit the frame a bit, he just filed the frame down  Problem solved, I wouldn't do that to a nice frame though.

The pile just needs the gate knob filed down a couple MM for the 243.
Pile... err pile. damn can't trick my brain into thinking something else!
Hi Guys,
Talk to the fork guys.
Frames haven't changed in that area for many years.
Forks have been getting flatter crowns and taller adjustment knobs.
The only fork that doesn't clear a 243 is a Pike.
It just touches enough to scratch the paint.
You need to file off the edge of the adjuster knob.
All other forks fit.
I know of quite a few frames with less clearance than ours, where the fork will dent the tube there, because there is so much interference.

Oh btw fox, your lady friend at the Havana was entertaining to say the least!

Ya - your head set can make a big difference too.
Oh f@#k. Did you see her use the waiter as a dance pole while singing like a virgin to a spoon.
She was so wasted. You should see the video that was made later that night.
Too funny.
I can't believe she dragged me over to meet you guys.

Last year we sold frames with 1.5r zero stack headsets for Marzocchi 888 forks because the crowns were so tall. This year, the crowns are so flat that they can't use zero stack headsets because the lower crown will hit the bottom of the down tube before the stanction pads hit the side.
This is not to blame Marzocchi - I'm happy to have the extra 30mm of crown height put into travel so that the 2006 200mm 888 has the same AC lenght as last year's 170mm version.
My beef with fork manufacturers this year is with BRAKE MOUNTING STANDARDS! WTF - we go from having two standards (IS2000 and Manitou PM) to four or five standards for 2006??? What a PAIN IN THE ASS if you're trying to stock brakes. Good luck ensuring that you have the correct adapter. :(

Santa Cruz Heckler and Fox 125RLC. Comes from the factory like this, the fork caps just rub the downtube.
05 norco 4by and a stance flow, the travel adjustment knob hits the frame, it also pintches the rear brake cable too.

when the black valve caps are on my '03 djIII and my hose/cable are in the guides, the valve cap hits
solution: use normal tire valve caps. i might also turn the fork caps on my lathe to fit...

yeah it would be nice to know in advance, I'm lucky I put a chris king steel-set in my new frame ( chromag TRL ) otherwise the 66RC wouldn't clear the frame, making going SC pointless.

Sounds like we need a standard standard. Maybe some of those guys should look up the definition.
Good luck,
