Well im in the market for a new rear shock for my beast, I found the new Marzocchi shock on beyondbikes.com for 399.99 US(475 CAD), And it will actually fit my bike properly,Its sexy, and it beats the hell out of a vanilla R. Its one of the better priced performance shock I can fit on my bike(I can fit a swinger 6 way,5th and A Vanilla R) and It can be serviced pretty much anywhere. Does anyone have any experiance with this shock?

I haven't personally ridden it, but it's supposed to be a really simple design to make it easy to tune and rebuild

I dont think anyone have one yet.. but marzocchi clearly said its easy to rebuild it yourself. and good performance according to cedric

^^yah but how much is cedric getting paid? Also the shock is supposed to be an alternative to the other stable platform style shocks which basically means it is always active.

i had a good look at the Roco whilst in Whistler this summer (thanks Roni!) and it looks pretty sweet, JP had one on a black Devinci suspension frame and seemed stoked on the ride.
the techs said its fully hand rebuildable (user servicable) without special tools, its going back to a simple shim stack design with no platform or dump valves, etc.
can't be nitrogen charged though, if its user serviceable? doesn't this mean you get problems with cavitation, heat, etc.
guess we'll see soon...kinda tempted to plug one into my Scream, but not sure how performance will match up to Fox DH 5?

neither fox, manitou and 5th run nitrogen in there shocks and i don't think they experiance any of the problems.
i think the one reason nitrogen is used is to avoid getting moisture from the air trapped in the shock.
I rode with a guy who had one said it felt great. not that it means anything.
My rule of bike parts - never buy a new part or frame in its first year of production.
