saw this in a pnw forum and was wondering if any one here knows about it? or are they trying to keep it on the dl. it was just posted up today.

"A couple days ago I was heading east to ride the Middle Fork trail and was held up due to an accident just before exit 34. When I slowed down to rubberneck, I was surprised to see an upside down Norco Factory Team trailer and truck. Didn't look like any one was hurt, just come very bumbed Canadians standing by the side of the road w/ a bunch of dicked up bikes. Drag."

The pick-up towing the trailer was sideswiped just south of Seattle. Nascar style, by a driver who fell asleep at the wheel and swerved into the rear wheel of the truck, putting it into a sideways powerslide at 75 km/h on a wet road for about 600 feet, across multiple lanes into and across the meridian.

The trailer tipped onto its side when the rig hit the meridian. Some slick driving on Pete's part prevented the truck and 10,000 lb trailer from crossing into oncoming traffic.

No bikes were damaged or even scratched. They were all safe and sound packed in the trailer wrapped up in moving blankets. Every single one of them came out like new.

Nobody was hurt. Everyone in both the Norco pick-up and the guy that fell asleep and took them out was unscathed. It could have been deadly, but nobody was injured.

Goes to show how fast it can happen. Driving along minding your own business and BAM. Someone takes you out in the blink of an eye.

actually they were probably out ridding our trails becuase this was along i-90 which just goes to spokane and then into idaho. thay still could have been comin back from interbike though, just sayin they must have been takin a detour to go ride.

apparently the route thru idaho is one of the faster ways to Vegas, or flatter if you are pulling a trailer.......we did it in the Roach van with boxing ring.

No.

They were coming back from Moab, a trip made directly from Interbike after the show.

Sorry.

Just figured they'd be driving home on i-5 the widest straightest fasted route and perhaps wanted to explore other trails. i-90 is where all ours are. Where the accident happened.

Kind of like if a transition bike trailure crashed in whistler on their way to seattle from somewhere that would have nothing to do with whistler, you would assume that a detour was made to ride bikes.

Wow that sucks. Imagine the mess inside that trailer right there... Glad everyone is ok and I'm sure insurance will take care of the rest.
