I noticed today that there is a small 1 foot diameter hole in the road up Fromme Mtn that goes a few feet deep (you can see various logs at different angles a few feet below with lots of open spaces). I forget which switches it's between right now.

Anyways - anyone know who the correct contact person is for maintaining the road up Fromme (is it maintained by the ski hill)? The only concern is that obviously there must be a creek crossing under the road and this means that the road in that section will eventually collapse. If that happens I'm not sure if the district will stop traffic (incl. us) up the road. Even if they don't it will likely make the climb up a bit more interesting!

If you are doing a night ride be aware of it. Try not to ride over it as it might collapse enough to grab your wheel (or worse).

yes.

I know that hole. I wouldn't be surprised if the road caves in there this winter.

With those massive trucks going up and down I'm surprised it hasn't already !

Called Grouse Mtn - they'll hopefully look into it.

While it's still there - check it out - kinda cool to look down.

An old logging truck driver once told me: "If you never punch through the road, your putting to much money into building it".

Me and a buddy noticed trhat hole on Saturday. It's between Air Supply and Bitches Brew I think. Just above Pink Starfish.

We put a large rock on top of it so no one would step in it and break an ancle. I'm not sure that it will cave in completely. From what I could tell, long ago there were large logs put across the creek as a means to support the road and dirt above. I can see the dirt falling between the spaces.

Either way, it's sort of dangerous at the moment, so be carefull if your up there.

Wood box culvert. It's a more fish friendly way of crossing a stream then using a metal pipe.

there's also a big undercut hole downhil from pink starfish. we saw it walking down after the trailday......it's on the downhill side of the road, near the edge, and it goes under the road a fair ways. that one looks like it'll wash out in heavier rains

I wonder if Wade's gap off the 3rd switchback will grow again this year
