where to ride?

I've got a couple weeks off so I'm gonna head down to Utah with the 5+5 bike. I've been to Moab a few times and I'd like to check out some other places. What are some other good areas? Trails?

Also, has anyone been to Bootleg Canyon? Is that worth checking out?

Mammoth Lakes area (cali) - good riding around there?

And how about Big Sur? I'm gonna come back up through California so I'll do some rides around Monterey/Santa Cruz

Check out Fruita Colorado. Only about an hour or two away. I would think Mamoth might be getting cold and miserable about now. The snow starts hitting the high mountains in ernest about now. Last year in September we rode through fresh snow on Burro Pass. Durango has good riding but again, it's high up and might be snowy.

You should hit the parks too for some natural splendor and historical culture. Mesa Verde is quite spectacular, cliff dwellings and all but I don't know if it's still open this time of year.

what about down near Zion? Is the Flying Monkey trail too gnarly for XC-ish bikes?
