How's the conditions at Mt. Washington these days? We're coming over for the long weekend and hope to get at least one day in, maybe a ride on Forbidden too. The weatherman is calling for rain, hope it's not too bad. Washington seems to get kinda shitty when it's really wet, but Sheiks is usually pretty good.

I havent heard. Been a lil wet here so everyone I know has been riding lower elevation stuff. Personally I find Washingtons woodwork a bit sketchy in the rain, esp those wood berms. yikes.

The snowden is perfect right now, wet loamy goodness, and Cumberland must be in good shape. And theres always forbid.......

I havn't ridden snowden in years. Is it any good there? I remember it being very XC'ish.

Sorry man, we just have absolutely no schedule when we come over so it's pretty hard to plan anything ahead of time. We just get out when we can, whether it be Forbidden, Washington, or just some XC up at Snowden and the Pumphouse.

It just wasn't funny enough to spend the time conjuring up a reply.

It doesn't seem fair to have a battle of wits with an unarmed man.

You seem to be implying that good and XC can't go together? :???:

how can you go wrong with km's of flowy loamy singletrack with some tech rock bluffs thrown in to mix it up.

Well I was growing tired of some twit hijacking my thread, so I thought I'd leave it alone.

I wanted to go too but the weather is supposed to be shit, the ferries are full, and no one seems interested in forking out $ for a couple crappy days

I hope the weather gets better than what the cam shows today

I learned a long time ago to make reservations early for long weekend ferries.

The mountain might be less than stellar, but there is a ton of great riding rain or shine in the comox valley.

One of my buddies was up there about a month ago on a weekday, and he said that the eagle was the only chair running. I was wondering if the hawk is closed for good, or just open on the weekends now.
Not that it really matters, Forbidden's so sweet now with all of the work happening up there, that I'd be just as happy to shuttle and save my money for beer. (And turkey)

Beer donations can be gladly left slightly hidden near new stunts and new trails built on forbidden :)

I thought you guys wanted nails? I could bring both, but a crash enroute with a pack full of nails and beer could be disastrous.

PS-What happened to the second wooden hit on the fire road? Last time I was there, it was knocked over and a bunch of rungs were missing. An errant 4x4'er perhaps? Also, has anything happened to that smallish tranny on the big wooden gap on the trail (name?) below Jake the Snake?
