2003 Bullit fork question

Can I run a Fox 40 in the eight inch travel position or do I need to drop it down to seven? I call and left Sant Cruz three messages with no reply.

if i were you, i would drop it down to 7, the bike will handle much better. I used to run an 03 monster on my 04 bullit, and swapped for a 7 inch fork and the difference is night and day.
