I'm now owning a rmx frame 2005 with the dhx 5.0. i really like how it ride, smooth at the begining stroke, then it become progressive and I can't see how I could bottom it and I like that, it's not linear. The only downside, it's heavy like hell, 13lbs for the frame this is why i'm thinking about maybe change the frame for something lighter. I was thinking about the wilson 2005, it has the same shox so it may feel aproximetly the same, but is it progressive too, I know, with the dhx any frame could be progressive with the bottoming resistance but there is some limit.

So the main question, Rmx 05 VS Wilson 05 what would be the good and bad thing if I change.

An other thing is that the rmx is a tank, I can throw everywhere I want and it will be smooth like butter, will it be the same with a more ''dh'' bike like the wilson.

I mainly do jump, drop, gap, downhill, little bit of urban and I plan to go ride whistler next year and the north shore in BC.

This is a picture of my bike, it's all these pieces who would go on the wilson if I change.

It sounds like you're happy with your bike, the way it rides, etc. I would recommend not changing it for weight concerns. If it rides right keep it; you'll get stronger and overcome the weight problem.

Yeah I know but, something like 5lbs isn't a small amount of weight ...
And the bike weight 50lbs for now. Between 45 and 50lbs, I think I owuld see the difference. Anyways, I will see what other people will say about this. Thank

I'd keep the RMX. Unless you're racing, I think you'll find the RMX will suit you better than a Wilson.

As for the weight, I really doubt there's a 5lb diff. Maybe 3. And then you've got to consider the durability of the lighter frame that is purpose built for racing.

Also depends on your size - if you're a 165 pounder, it's a much different equation than if your a 200 pounder.

I doubt that it would make a big difference. I actually have a medium 05 Wilson that I haven't built up yet so I'll put it on the scale and see what it weighs with the DHX 5.0

Yeah i'm 165lbs, but you're right, the 2005 is 11lbs, only a difference of 2lbs, I had in my head, 8lbs from the 2004 one but I don't what one for some reason like the rear shox, I really like the dhx.

So to everyone, if the wilson isn't a bike for that ... what frame could be ? the vp-free (I don't know how much it weight)

take the bike you have and ride the piss out of it and be happy

the thrust linkage has one of the best ramp up feels of any bike that I have tried.
