Currently rebuilding my shiver dc and have a problem. the seal that is in the fork won't come out easily at all. I used a screwdriver and tried to pry it out placing a rag over the slider to not damage it, but still no luck. Any easy way to do this?

Keep working it, a little bit at a time, don't pry in the same spot more than once...keep the screwdriver moving around the seal. For the first buch of prys it won't seem like the seal is moving, but once you unseat it, it comes out quite easily.

Hi

Yeah, they take a bunch of pries. I responded in that other post of yours. You did take the retaining lockring out, right? Without that, you can pry all you want and you'll get nowhere.

Be careful though, because they tend to just shoot out (just ahead of the pointy end of the screwdriver) when they finally come loose. Don't have your hand/face near it when you start prying...

Man you think getting seal out of your fork is tough? Try getting a hippopotamus out. That's what happened to me once. ... .... really it did... :shifty eyes:
