just inspecting my bike, andi realized i have broken my barend. it is an ENVY 'kappa' girl bar end, and the bar is like pushing through the aluminum.. wtf?! any one else done this?

happened to my friends dirty barends, just means that you hit them to much or drop your bike on them

243 racing barends are the only MTB barends that are resistant to this.

Yep, especially with steel handlebars. As Evan said the .243 ends are thick enough so this doesn't happen, most of the other "bling" MTB endcaps are too thin.

Kink aren't an MTB company. Most companies who know what they're doing wouldn't have a big problem with this.

I use one of those $2.75 plastic dealios from MEC. They're still going strong.

Maybe the secret is to not drop your bike when you walk into the store or scoping a line, etc.

or just crash less?! i dont drop my bike much, and when i do it is on soft ground, IE. Grass, or sand..

Bar end = xc bar extension

Bare end cap = the accessory in question in this thread

Barends!?? wtf?? i haven't seen a bike with barends since i took the blue anodized quik release, and toe clips off my 1991 kona cinder cone

PS. Wooly Fabrications (now long gone for a few years) had the first aluminum bar plugs i'd ever seen, and they haven't given up since day 1.
