I'm going to be picking up a used 4 or 5" singlecrown for my GF's bike pretty soon, but looking at the classifieds has me baffled..Ive been out of the gear loop for a few years, and all the new model marzocchis and rockshocks have me confused...so many new models that I don't know nothing about.
What low cost SC forks would people reccomend for a bike that will see XC and steeper trails. probably no drops over a foot or two, as she's just learning, but that won't snap in half in case of a bad exit off a ramp or something. the last thing I want is for her to get hurt.
alternatively, if anyone has an old used SC fork kicking around we could work something out.

Pretty tough to beat that price for a high quality fork even if your buying used

MX Comp would probably serve your GF well. I've had one for 2+ years and it has held up well for the type of riding you describe. Switch also has one on his XC bike and seems to be happy with it.

I sent you a PM about a used fork I've got up for sale. Let me know if it's something you'd consider.
