I want to put an x.7 derailleur on my super 8, but was told that it wouldn't work well because the cable would come into it at too tight of an angle. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks
I ran two x.9 on my old Super 8 and they all worked fine, just make sure you run the proper cable routing with open housing design, and put extra length of cable/housing to make sure that they won't be short.

shouldn't be an issue - I have mine running on top my Super 8 although it's an x.9 fine. - much tigher fit than the shimano - doesn't ever get caught anymore
I run my cable housing end to end with the cable going down right next to the pivot and through the inside of the swingarm.
