Does this seem right for a rear-derailleur-only setup?
Outer Ring Thing mounted on the spider's notches, 4-bolt 104mm BCD 32t chainring mounted to the flat backside of the spider, 3.5mm spacers between the chainring and the Double E, with the bevelled edge facing the BB and some long-ass bolts sandwiching it all together.
OR
Outer Ring Thing mounted on the spider's notches, 4-bolt 104mm BCD 32t chainring mounted to the flat backside of the spider, and the Double E flipped around with the bevel facing the chainring, and attached to the granny holes on the spider with 8mm worth of spacers between the spider and Double E (works out to about a mil or so more clearance between the ring and Double E, with the bevel giving some additional chain clearance as well).
Also, where does the BB's conical spacer go?
