I rode a Prophet 4-Cross with a Lefty Max-Carbon this morning at Seymour. Yeah, it was alright.. Ok it was amazing. This is an amazing all-mountain ride. It was setup ~32lbs, carbon bar, magura Marta SLs, X9, Tubeless Huchinson (Octopus? very nice tires.) I just railed it all the way down Corkscrew, pingu, Pangor. It was like I was riding my Enduro SX, only faster. It was a large, maybe a little big for me. It is soooo stable I was just plowing through everything. Definetly worth a look, maybe a little pricey. $3500US is the cheapest I have seen it. Sure glad I was the first one there this morning. :dizzy:

okay ... Crack and Fail ,there I said it and its outa the way

I would think its much less than 32lbs

I weighed my 1000, its 28 and change ,the 4x has the lefty max with the ti spring and the carbon upper which is half an lb lighter than the regular Max

I am really liking mine and the design must be working for C-dale cuz they got 12 prophets for 2006 plus the RUSH which looks like its using the same swingarm design

I did a brief test ride on a Prophet at the bike show...but it was a custom build. It felt very light and flickable. The stand over was good in the small size, but the top tube felt very cramped.

it was not a stock 4x, he had a little bit beefier wheels on it. 32 is what he told me, I think it was his only personal bike. Cannondale seems to still have this negative stigma attached to them, from years ago when they were pretty much the only aluminum mfr. and didn't make the greatest bikes. still worth a look if you're looking for a do anything bike.

Did you ask the guy when the new stuff will start rolling in? I've seen pictures of the MX1 and 2 and they look perfect for me. Hopefully the MX2 will be somewhat affordable. From what I can tell from the Europe prices it should be around $3200.
I am hesitant of the Rockshox Pearl rear shock though if thats what they are spec'ing in North America. It's unknown and unproven, at least if it was a swinger 3way you would know what you are getting

There are like 6 different builds for the Prophet for 06, he had the MX that Cedric rode in the Slopestyle, but the wheel was mangled. There's one with a 36 and DHX air, Pike and an RS shock, all kinds.

And they have the negative stigma attached to them for a good reason. My 175 lb cousin has broken his rear triangle, replaced it, broke the front triangle in 3 pieces, replaced it then broke the new rear again. And that's a Gemini (which a Prophet is a whittled down version of...) It cracks and it fails! If you're not as smooth as Cedric (who prolly rides a new bike every month) look at something else.

what else has he broken? We have sold quite a few geminis and they seem to stand up.

No broken Porphets ,only 2 sold, they have a lifetimes warranty

He's got an 03 Super that has been flawless (and almost cost him a replacement because of travel (which was pointed out to the Cannondale rep to be bullshit cuz Cedric runs a Dorado). He has put a couple of dings in his enduro-ish wheels but other than that has had no breakage issues. He rides it the same way all of us around him ride our Bullits but he's the one walking (or limping) out of the woods.

Hmmm... I'm glad you enjoyed your ride on the bike...but seriously...never buy anything equiped with a lefty fork (or wahtever you want to call it.) those things are garbage...and before anyone says it..sure I've seen Cedric killing it on one...but he can get new ones in a heartbeat...that and I seriously LOATHE cannondale bikes... just my opinion, but I'll bet its one that's shared by alot of others...if I were looking for a 4x frame, I'd never even think of cannondale...there's ALOT better bikes out there that
A)cost less
and
B) Perform Better

Like I said tho...glad you enjoyed your ride.
