Wow!!! This was my best day ever at whistler, despite all the stuff that went wrong. We got stuck behind tons of slow thing on the way up on the highway...no worries, we rolled in ten minutes til opening. First run down, my buddy gets a flat tire, walks it out and gets it all fixed up. We go up for a few more runs, try out crank it up....which was great. After a another 2 or three runs, my and my riding buddy head up garbanzo.....first time this year for me. It was such a blast even untill I got a flat. Thankfully some guy gave me a tube, and we got it mounted and were on our way. We did freight train/no joke/duffman/freight train. My new favourite line on the mountain is duffman to lower freight train, I had so much fun on them. That might all change in the wet though :( Then for my first time I tried all of whistler dh, upper and lower...and once again thats a new favourite line..............in the dry. Saw BP(Battlecat now?) up there. If you have not been up garbanzo this year, go now, its dry and fun. Was anyone else from the board up today?

I was...I was riding with my friend. She rides a old-style Norco VPS and is one of the only 'dark' riders on the mountain. You probably saw her.

I may have seen Battlecat...some guy with a chrome Monster on oldish ALine had "battlecat" on the fork. He and some friends were doing nice manuals over the Dirt Merchant bridge.

It was a bit more beaten than ive seen it before, you might notice it a bit on a short travel bike, but not much to worry about on a dh bike. Some berms had a loose dusty layer which made laying into some corners a tad sketchy but nothing horrible.

Yeah, I loved upper-lower whistler DH and I think Joyride is next on my list, I've wanted to hit it for a while now...

I take it joyride is harder than whistler dh?

to me...

upper joyride is easier than upper whistler...there is one rockface that gets inside peoples minds, but its a straight shot and not hard...

lower joyride is more difficult than lower whistler dh...but each time I have wandered into lower joyride, it has been a swamp and not so much fun...next time up there, ill check it out in the dry...who knows :)

I couldn't agree more. Lower Joyride in the wet is a touch sketchy. I went down it a couple of months ago because a bear was in the way on lower whister.
I've almost hit bears on that trail twice now. They must like it as much as I do.

You shuold have said hi.

Yesterday was probably my best day riding this year. The hip in the boneyard is amazing right now aswell. If you are able to hit it send it cause its the best hit on the mountain
