Hello.

I'm planning a trip up to Canada next month (sept) but and I'm wondering if it's a good time to go.

I've been before during this time of year but I can't really remember what things were like...although I seem to remember I had a good time!

After a little research I have been noticing that lots of bike parks and bike tour companies start to wind stuff up on the 5th of September. I can see that this is Labour day? Is that the end of summer?? Schools go back?

I can also see that whistler is still open but extended play finishes. Sun peaks and silverstar close during the week(?) Would I be correct in thinking that these things are financially motivated decisions only?? (less people around). Naturally places like the the shore are never "closed" but daylight dwindles towards the end of sept....

any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Up here in canada the whole country shuts down on september 15 do to severe winter conditions. We all climb into our igloos and don't come out until late may. You might be able to cross the boarder but law requires you to own a snomobile and speak fluid english and french. Good luck eh!

as long as the forests aren't closed due to fire danger you should be all set.

September riding on the shore is great, IMO. Temps are perfect for riding, very mild and not stinking hot/sweaty. Groms are at school so trails (and shuttling roads) are quieter.

Don't mind my bad humour. Most of the resorts do close in september which kinda sucks but september is one of the best months to ride. Its a little cooler and the weather is usually pretty good. The days don't start getting to short until the end of september. If you plan on riding in the Okanagan or Kelowna you can pm me for directions or possibly a tour.
