Hello all;

So Slopestyle Qualifying is today at 2pm. I work until 3, but should catch most of it since nothing starts on time anyway.

At any rate...who should I be looking out for?

Chris Powell was looking smooth and good the other day in training, as was a guy riding a small green fully that I'd never seen before. He's decked out in Adidas stuff. There was also a guy on a yellow Nicolai that looked alright as well. Or maybe I was just noticing the bike!

Does anyone know who these riders were?

Also...is it the top 4 of 20 that get entered into the finals again?

Doubt it...this bike had a European website and name it seemed. And, I think Steve T is with Giant or something.

I had heard that there were 7 invites that were hurt, so there were more spots for amatuers.

G, that could only be Carlo Dieckmann. Was he riding a Last bike? Gotta be him, really nice guy and say hi when you see him, he's German with a tonne of personality, and riding style.

Yea, must have been him. He was one of my favourites yesterday. I think he qualified. He was smooth and good. During training, he was super friendly, wasn't calling attention to himself, and was riding really well.

Another Euro on the yellow Nicolai qualified too I think...huge backflip, and nice 360.

Here's what I will remember from Q-school: (I only caught the second run)

Mike Kinrade transferring onto the big teeter from the next bridge...a gap of about a meter, hopping over from flat on a big bike!

Dylan Tramblay 360ing off the top of the Quarter Pipe. He taco'd his wheel on landing though, and DNF.

Kasprick no-foot canning the octopus drop. It was sweet, but he landed sketchily and most likely hurt himself because he just rode the bottom afterwards. It was sick while it lasted though.

Gatzka (I think...) 3-point/3-star (no-footer + one hander) off the octopus drop.

Von Dinaken (Can't remember if that's his name...) pulling a Von Dinaken...it's his signature move I guess. It's a backflip barrel-roll I think. I coudln't figure out exactly what he did though, but it was just awesome. I think he qualified with it.

It was super fun to watch. I'm getting to the mountain earlier today,so I can get a sweet spot for the finals. Yesterday I coudln't see the quarter pipe, and I think I missed out...the orange shoe guy did something that everyone cheered about, but I don't know what it was!

Nice report, more like that would be cool :agree:

The nicolia rider can only be Joscha Forstreuter. Boys both got 7th and 8th in the Ride to the Lake last year and with them getting over to events like this and qualifying imagine we'll see more of zee Oiros, not that they'll be takin over but it's cool to have different styles of ridin mixin up.

I 'think' they are refering to the topmost stunt which has like 4 drops. 2 lines and I guess kind of looks like one side of an octopus.
