i get surgery, which comes with 8 free screws and a plate! yay!

6 weeks later i get cast thing off because the screws are holding it together and the last of the stitches taken out.

thank you. iwas was doing a curved wallride all some how slipped off and im not sure if it got tangled in the bike or hit the ground weird.

but i cant put any weight on it for another few weeks. then i need surgery again in 6-9 months. so i wont be riding again for over a year

you cant see it in thew x-rays, but i had a cat scan done and its in a whole bunch of little pieces.. both sides and pieces cut into tendons, so they had to file down the bones.

dude, it will not take you a year to get back to riding!!! I broke my leg in 6 places (a comminuted spiral fracture of my tib/fib ankle, blah blah blah.) Bottom line 22 screws. Two plates. one 9 inches long and the other 6 inches long. 7 1/2 months off before i was back riding. First ride was 5th horseman on Cypress!! No probs. Do EVERYTHING your physiotherapist says. I did 1/2 hr work on it EVERY day. Broke mine about 6 inches above the ankle and my foot was facing backwards (coulda' kicked my own ass!!) My 1 year anniversary was this Sat. so I went back up to Whistler to celebrate. (Whistler was where I broke it) Good luck, stay positive and work your ass off =]

a friend of mine did the exact same break with the same amount of screws in the same places. and he wasnt riding for a year. how long was your recovery after the surgery to take everything out?

Unfortunately you have to have the wand right next to your heel to make the detector go off. I asked specifcally at the airport to check my foot. when the wand beeped they made me take off my shoe and sock to see if I had a weapon hiden but the only weapon was bad foot oder :dead:
