I was looking at the Cypress Bike Park website and I sent an e-mail to ask untill when will the cypress trails be rideble, they told me that the Park will be opened untill Sep. 5th. That means that no-one can ride cypress trails after that? because I thought there were trails all around the Cypress Mountain and people could ride any time they want (or can)

I asked about the other trails out of the bike park and they answered that

"There are some trails that have been illegally built with-in Cypress Provincial park. Their location is un-known and we do not have any information on them. You may want to try looking at biking over on Fromme Mtn. There may be a shuttle service to take riders to the top and they may run later in the Season.

Best Regards,

Cypress Mountain"

So I'm a little confused about it and have some questions.

1 - I thought Cypress was only one of the many mountains around Vancouver and people opened trails there so they could ride, nothing more. Like if I lived in a city where there is a mountain and I buit a trail for me to climb the mountain (by car or pushing the bike, or even cycling) ane go down the trail with my bike.... But when I read this e-mail it seemed to me that there is a closed Park at Cypress Mountain and we can only ride there payng the pass and beeing tehre before september 5th.... can anyone explain-me how it works?

2 - Untill when does people usually ride the trails around North Vancouver? I'm arriving there at Sep. 1st...

sorry for the english mistakes... I hope I can learn more there as I'll be studying at North Vaancouver untill March :agree:

Their are loads of trails on all three of the major local mountains.......you were dealing with politics when you asked Cypress about the other trails.....when you asked them, they could only tell you about there trails.....wich are located on the sky hill. The first trails built....the free ones, are all over the place.....try here www.gutsploder.com ,this should help you alot, good luck.

the actual chairlift accessed riding will close then but there are some other trails unrelated to cypress bike park but on the same mountain which you could ride.
september riding will be awesome and you can usually find some trails to ride through the winter months if you want.lots of people ride all year long.

I think I won’t be able to ride in September.... that's because I'll still have to buy a bike and know the riders etc... Also I'm going to Canada to study; I'll be in an Exchange Program, and as I’ll be living with another family I don’t even know yet I can’t say “Bye, I’m going Down hilling at Cypress” as soon as they see me…:agree:

I'm nervous about that, do you think I'll be able to ride there?

I'll be Studying at Bodwhell High Shool, North Vancouver... The family also lives in North Van. (sh!t...I hate prepositions, this will be a problem there...:stupid:)

Do they have any kids who ride? If so, they may even show you around the hills. If they are anti riding....good luck.
