but my blue/white paint job was getting a bit beat and instead of goin for a new lid i'd try somthing semi original and alot cheaper..
bought a air gun and some paint
well my pops did we wanted to paint our old boat too..
so this is the finished product.
lesson air brush primer on too.. wont get brissles in paint
and take more time tapeing..

oh well anywho here the finished product..

if any of yeah see me i'll stand out a bit more with this sucker

it looks nicer in person.. and while riding :dizzy:

Yeah could have worked on edges but good work for first try... lucky you got to use air gun and real paint. I just use spray cans, take your time taping and do lots of coats compared to couple THICK coats.

you could prolly use some thinner or alcohol to clean off the edges by the rubber maskings.

i think it would have looked cooler with white top and black bottom.....but still alright

a tip to anybody who paints their helmets with spraypaint: use krylon fusion spraypaint, covers great and has a pro look to it, it also sticks better than normal spraypaint, its like 8 bucks a can but well worth it

i agree.. i just painted my mad max aswell .. its now all black. THe Krylon worked really well

ive been giving thought to painting my madmax something that stands out. my paint is poo-kicked from various crashes and a fresh coat would make the bucket feel happy again...a happy bucket is a safer bucket :)

knowing me though, i would get halfway through it, get bored, and have a horrible looking helmet!

yeah it was only 3 coats.. and didnt spend all that long taping the edges.. all a learning process forsure!
