The last couple of times down CBC, I've been picking up a lot of your crap. This pic is the stuff that I picked up yesterday, without even trying. I was just grabbing what was laying around when I stopped from time to time.
Put it in your pocket. Don't leave it on the trail. Don't try to hide it under bridges. Take it with you.
This includes: lollipop wrappers, water bottles, plastic straws, bandaid wrappers, and even the bits of t-shirt that the paramedics cut off you when you get stretchered out ( I assume that you had friends with you to pick up the bits. Hope you are feeling better now. Don't litter, you need all the karma you can get).

If I actually catch any of you littering out there, I won't say anything. I'll just stomp yer derailleur off to let you find out how much more inconvenient that is rather than packing your crap out with you.
For those of you who aren't filthy pigs, thanks for keeping it green.

Well I know your heart is in the right place, but the truth is that the people who litter are those who just don't care, and likely aren't on this bulletin board.
^ unfortonatly, i agree with that

Yeah, litter on the trails pisses me off. I was up in Cumberland and picked some trail garbage up...I wonder what people are thinking when they just throw their shit on the ground...and what kind of people they are to not care about shit like that.

Littering on the trail is like taking a shit in your own bed.
You wouldn't shit your bed, so don't litter on your trails.
I am all for jerseying trail trash.

They dont stop and think about things like who has eventually pick it up? how is them throwing their crap going to effect the trail? And if they think, just this one time cause o got nowhere to put it, they dont see that if everyone did it just that, the trails would be filled wit grabage.

I picked up a bunch more today, only 24 hours later. And I know that lots of other people pick up crap too. There must be a couple of garbage bags a week coming off CBC alone.
Now broken derailleurs are another story. Feel free to decorate trees with them. It's like christmas when you have enough hanging from the branches...

I must confess, that one tube is mine if it was under the cbc ladder bridge but I have a good reason.
It was covered in liquid latex (don't ask) and I didn't have anything to put it in before I put it in my bag so I left it there planning to pick it up today.
That was thursday night and it was gone this morning... smoke works quick.
My apologies and my thanks.
I saw smoke pulling garbage man duty at the bottom of CBC today. My worst beef is the tubes hanging off a branch im come on.

Disagree completely, there are all kinds of people on this board. Furthermore, for every person who posts, there are at least one or more lurkers.
Thank you to Smoke and others who take the time to pick up garbage. And a good reminder that we should all pack a plastic bag (for garbage) when we ride.

Little plastic bags of dog poo hanging off trees make great trail markers too.

Is someone hosting raves on CBC? If so, the NSMBA should look into hosting some sort of combo rave/trail day.
3 whistler day tickets
I haven't ridden CBC as many times as most other people here, but I'm fairly certain that WB doesn't usually have any validators working down there.

That's probably because people who actually RIDE the trail top to bottom without stopping don't have the time to stop and pick up a power bar or glow sticks... I have only ridden CBC a few times, and everytime I ride, I notice a little picnic going on by the middle bridges and that is probably where most of the garbage comes from.

If you dont have the TIME to pick up after the lesser evolved amongst us,kindly screw off....the trail is always more important than the ride.....of course,I have to [assume] that you are serious about your comment.

Do you still have the orange balloon? It looks like the one from my last birthday party at McDonalds. Big Ron McD. gave it to me.
I'd like it back. I really miss it.

I don't get people who litter. Period.
I was driving up to Cultus Lake on Firday, and was behind this car full of teenages, when one of the dudes throws a gatorade bottle out the window. I'm like "what an asshole, but at least its a bottle that somebody will pick up and return" (gotta love the homeless) then the same dude throws a chip bag out, so i drive right up on his ass and honk my horn and finger them. they have no idea why, and speed up, I stayed pinned on there tail, (road rage style) until they turned off the road.
I should have followed them more and actually let them know why I was so pissed, But I didn't know what to do really. Littering just makes me so mad. It's our planet, and it doesn't clean itself.
I always take pride in how clean our city / province is. when ever I go stateside I am blown away by all the shit lying around the sides of the highways and streets. I am always proud of my fellow canadians when I see the trashcans stuffed full of garbage on rodson, and people take the time to stack the garbage that won't fit onto the top of the can. I alway say something to people I see litter. It is so f--ing rude.
Smokers too. Your butts are not bio-degradable, Put them in the garbage or in your ashtray, it bad enough you pollute my air, just don't pollute the area too.

It's the damn parents. My kids would never think of littering, but I know parents who don't reinforce the message at all or enough. Walk around any elementary school here in NV and there is tons of sh*t everywhere. It's depressing.
We need a finger rule. Purposely litter, lose a digit. After ten strikes, you lose your dangly bits.

I'm in NZ at the moment doing a 2month tour. I've done a few hikes and found countless garbage on the trails here. Now NZ has 4 million people *total* and over half live above the central north island. I am ashamed to call this place home. It seems to be an island of pigs.
The shore having a nearby population of around 2mill is pretty darn good. So Canucks give yourselves a pat on the back and a broken deraliar to the rest of you!
