Hey,

I'm heading down to Vancouver Island following Crankworxs. I'm looking for recommendations on where the best stuff to ride is (built shore stuff that is).

I've seen some cool pics online: Binx Coaster/Mt Benson, Peegee, Dixe/Prince George: are these trails on the Island?

Also, I need something for my girlfriend to do while i'm biking one or two days ( don't bother with the dirty jokes kids). Is a whale watching tour worth it or is it often that one doesn't see anything?? Are there cheap kayak trips?

Again, message me if you know the best north shore mtb riding areas on the Island?

If anyone is willing to show me some sick trails for the day that would be rad too? I'll buy you some beer plus I live in Whistler so maybe I could help you out in return.

Thanks - stefan

P.s. You can send me a personal message at scwalke@hotmail.com

Thats the thing i'm trying to figure out. I know we're going to Victoria for sure. I was looking into the Iquana Ranch and Mt, Benson. Also, Nanaimo, Parksville and Cumberland seem to have good reputations.

I just have limited time so I want to pick the best spots.

Dont bother riding trails in Victoria. There is Harbourview but some stuff is being torn down and such. Hartland is good but doesnt have much built up/"shore" stuff. Your best bet is to hit up Island.
Mt Benson is like 2 hours from Victoria. I have never been there but it seems pretty good. If you can get someone to show you around, Im sure it will own up.
Cumberland is apparently very good. Dodge City Cycles will hook you up with a map and such if your nice;).
Mt Washington is basically the Whistler of the Island. Lift accessed riding and worth checking out. Some different styles of building for sure, though.
There is also a lot of stuff past Campbell River, but I dont know much. You will most likely need someone to show you around. There was a DropIn show of all the stuff up there.
If no one here is willing to help you out, your best bet is probably to hit up some bike shops.
