Took one between the googles and helmet, instinct took the hand off the bars and whoop, down I went, right before the log roll over on Joyride, little dust took the front wheel with the hand off the brake and smoke the elbow and hip, that's the second time this year with the bugs, same thing happened on Fantastic.....

Come up to Mcmurray to see mosquitos... Talk about motivation of not to stop or be at the back of the pack.

Then, once the mosquitos have finished with you Tar Sand beetles dig in...50mm long dive bombing beetles. WTF!
Trails are a little more X-country than I'm used to but as my wife says while she's pointing at my belly "a little uphill may be good for you..." Thanks dear.

My worst was being attacked by horse flys surfing 200++yrds off North Carolina. The only way to avoid them was dive under water. As soon as you come back up they're on you. Ever see a van full of surfers bail out at 25 mph?
I'll take mossies...

i haven't gotten a single mosquito bite from riding on seymour this entire season. i think a spider got into my armour on whistler a couple weeks back though because after a ride i had a big itchy sore bite that didnt go away for weeks and left a scar

Ok, the all time worst bug incident for me was about five years ago...
I was sleeping in my bed when I was awoke at 2am by a 10-12 inch long centipede clinging on my ass cheek. After getting the tongs scissors grabbing it cutting it's head off (they'll crawl back out even after you flush if you don't), I waited for the mate. I didn't find it for another week, when I found it during the day. I didn't sleep well until I did.
BTW-Giant centipede poison is a necrotoxin (sp?), it left two big holes in my ass cheek that didn't heal for a couple of months.
Now THAT was my all time worst...except maybe for the time I was stung by 30-40 portugese man-o-war while surfing Oahus north shore when I was a kid  ...

Mint is supposed to work to ward of the mosquitoes... Smells better than deet. And don't eat bananas, something in the bananas make you attract more of the (not so) little vultures.

And deet melts plastic though.
Buddy left his can of Off with Deet in his kayak as he went hiking, came back a couple hours later and there was a huge hole where he left the repellant.
As for worse I've gotten, 138 bites in 5 days.
