View Full Version : Big box
How difficult is it to get on top of the big side of the box without casing...badly? Compared to the amount of speed/preload needed for the small side of the box. Is it signifigant, is the big side ALOT harder than the small side? opinions, comments please.

it's not too much harder, you just gotta pedal into really fast and keep your bike level after you leave the lip, casing isn't bad at all, first time trying i just went for it and my whole back tire landed on the slanted wooden part, ask someone if you can fallow them. or just think of using about the same amount of speed to try and clear the small box to the landing of the drop

the big box you can ride up, iv seen it done the wood is not slanted steep so it is possible to ride up so dont worry about casing

It is however, easy to overshoot on the boxes, which causes a bit of an issue with the end of the box right there.

I find that you dont need as much speed as you need, or else you overshoot the tranny off the drop.... maybe just me i dont know.

That is what u do if u want to kill yourself :P. IMO and many other ppl I talk to, the big box is not all that much harder than the small box. you definitly dont need as much speed as if you were trying to clear the small box and I find that i dont even need to pedal. You shoudn't be to worried about casing because you can just roll up it if need be. I like to just let off the brakes and giv'er. 8)
