After my first trip to Whistler a few weeks back I finally realized what all the fuss was about. Rode all the blues, thought these are alright but not as good as the Shore, decided to give A-Line and DM a go and I was like holy f*ck, now I know why ppl rave about Whistler. Anyways, I'm wondering what some good options are for stepping it up a level. I've ridden all the blues and lower blacks, would stick to A-Line and DM all day but can't quite keep up speed-wise. What on Garbanzo is worth a go, or are there any "easier" lower double blacks? I'll also defnitely be hitting up A-Line minimee :grinno:. Oh yeah, how does the middle GLC compare to any of the Joyride drops? Thx.

are you still on the hardtail?

Yeah. And I'd heard some trails weren't so fun on a hardtail but I had a blast. You really learn to just loosen up, absorb as much as you can with your body and just give'er, otherwise you're in for a world of pain.

good for you - pays to be smooth. i see either suspension or a lot of ibuprofin in your future if you start rocking Whistler frequently. I don't know how the kids bodies take barrelling down Whistler runs all day on hardtails. It's all good fun.

DM and A-Line are the Poster Kids for Whistler, but they aren't the best the mountain has to offer. The majority of traffic up there is on those trails, which is fine by me, because it keeps the really good ones clear and less congested.

I love the Garbanzo action. Every trail up there is good times, take a day and ride them all.

Check out the Whistler DH trail, its one of my top picks. As is Joyride, upper and Lower.

There is so much more than A-Line out there!

the middle glc is smaller than you think. And tranny isnt as steep as joy ride drops. i say.. it feels like its a bit smaller than the big joy ride drop.

ive only ever done the 3rd jump park one, and ive hit the big glc every run. i cant tell b/c i use the park for warmup. i think that the 4th deff prepares you enough for it, esp mentally.

The middle GLC drop is a touch smaller then drop #3 at the drop park but is easier because of the downhill enterance and longer tranny.

I agree.. 4th one feels really steep when u land. Ive never hit big GLC before. I think Ill hit it this sunday.. Watch out for a guy on a ht with dc tumbling down the tranny of big GLC... I know i can do it but It kinda scares me =S my guts indeed.

^ link it up in the same run you hit that 4th joyride drop... or the aline rock, or dirt merchant rock. just get in the groove and don't think about it, trust your instincts and go for it
