hey my hayes nines are fairly new and there making alot of weird noises...
the back one does this vibrating thing thats really weird and when you flick or whatever the rotor makes this rattling twang sound...
i checked all the bolts and there all good.
it also makes cracking noises when the suspention is compressed and your holding the back break.
i was wondering if anyone knows whats wrong
thanks:agree:
ive given up trying to find out what the noises on mine are, but they run alright. my rear rotor seems to make a funny noise also, but does it effect your performance?

the cracking when you compess the suspension could be a crack in the frame from the forces of compressing the rear suspension, if you are riding a Vps which i think you are, check for cracks, landing with the rear brake on will do this. the vibration could be the rotor on an unfaced hub, or the rotor vibrating on the adapter if it is improperly spaced.

well it doesent stop as well as it did before the noises started.
and yes i was wondering if breaking off a drop would of started the noises because some of the drops that i do i have to break right after otherwise i would get going too fast and hit a tree or somthing:dead:
i also checked for cracks on my vps frame and i dident see any around that area.

Maybe just frame flex.......I think thats what it will be, if so, then no worries. 8)

i think i heard somewhere on these boards that locking the rear wheel off a drop destroys vps rear ends....

haha you have a problem ether way...if u use that back break you mess up the rear end and if u use the front break u might flip over or mess up your for or heat tube/gusset area:stupid:
i think the best thing to do its ether use both lightly or try and stay away from the drops that u need to use your breaks as u land...
when ever i try and not use my breaks off a drop like that i get going to fast and lock my wheel:stupid: or loose control.
the best thing would be to break at the exsact moment that your suspention exstends fully when landing... and that would be pretty hard:agree:

no, the best thing to do, would be come off the lip in such a manner, than when you land your pointing where you want to go, get your self goin in that direction than scrub some speed, or hell, try and scrub some speed before the lip.
and M@M you are correct, grabin some stop, while you drop, will kill a VPS
