Hey i just bought intense tire 2.7" 909 fro 60d I was wondering if anyone else tried these tires? They are super stiff and hard to get it on the rim XP it took me about 15 min to get it on.. thick side walls over all. I didnt get to ride it yet but i will soon. any opinions on intense tires?

I had a 2.5" version of that tire. Ya, super hard to put it on a rim, especially my doubletrack:P Anyway, its an awesome tire. You will never pinch flat it (within reason). For dh you can lower the pressure like a mofo and still have tons of room before hitting rim. Grips really awesome too. But expensive.

i have the 909SR of that same tire...

its a good tire, but not at the same level as a Michy comp16 or even the Kenda Nevegal...

but its def the closest thing to having a full-on MX tire on your ride...

nice part is u can buy them in lots of sizes/duro's and 2 or 4ply even. also u can get em 26" or 24"

i've also got a set of older Intense DH tires that i dearly love...Intense def. makes kick ass tires.

ahh i just got back from SFU and i can honestly say its really harsh.. I have 4 ply one cuz thats all they had =S and its realy realy hard like HARDY HARD!! it slips on roots very easily.. and it hurts ur hands if u ride rocky dh sections fast. I wish they were a bit SOFTER.. Do the get softer later on? and what are those transparent, white sticky thing on tire?

P.S. Tire weighs 3.25 lbs!! ahh

hah yeah, my brother had one on the front of his bike, skidded down long rock faces, didnt grip corners, slid off semi wet bridges, shady tire indeed. mountain bikes need grippy tires, not solid rubber.

Sounds like you need to lower the air pressure some.

naw i went pretty low well around 45 psi but its still damn hard. No wonder they say its race only tires =S

45 psi sounds kind of high to me. I think you could probably go down to 30 psi.

I usually go around 30 psi but i wasnt sure. However.. I kinda miss my kenda kolossal dh though.. =P well its softness but strong sidewalls and all

I'd giv'er down to about 20-25 on those tires. Around 25 psi really turns on the grip and power of these tires. If you have the 4 ply 20 would probably be better. 45 is pretty high.

Like others have said, 45psi is not low for a 2.7" DH tire. Depending on your weight, I'd start at ~18-25psi for the front and 22-27psi for the rear.

no those are the DH tires.

the 909 is more of a transition tire from WET into dry. but certainly not dry-weather specific.
