I searched the forum for an answer to this question, but couldn't find one. I've got a 2.5 Syncros BHT for a front tire and have had a couple of instances where a not so delicate landing has caused the tire to make contact with something. At first, it was hitting the front brake cable, but that is now re-routed.
Has anyone else had this problem? I just had the shop change out the spring to extra firm, as I weigh 215 without my riding gear on; I read somewhere that the Slider plus comes with a medium spring stock. I know in the NSMB review tire clearance was an issue, but not a 2.5. Hopefully, the new spring should eliminate the problem.

the tire could possible be hitting the downtube

you may not have enough clearence between your tire and bottom cornw and when you use up a bunch of travel your tire is touching the crown

I'm running a 2.5 nevegal ghetto tubeless (makes tire way bigger) and I haven't had any problems.
I would check to make sure you're above the min a-c recommendations.

do you have a bike with a long head tube?
I know on the boxxer with a flat crown a long headtube can take up stantion length so when the fork is fully compressed the tire hits the lower crown or the lowers hit the lower crown
with the boxxer you needed a dropped crown to get by this

With Sliders the bottom crown will hit the arch(clang) before it could contact the tire.

It's an '05 Bullit (19" frame). With the stock spring and 100 p.s.i., the fork could go through almost all of its travel, so you may be right.

I just got back from the shop. The fork came with a soft spring (which is for riders weighing between 120 -150). I'm hoping the extra firm spring does the trick. I won't know til I hit the trails tomorrow, but I was wondering what other people with this fork are running for p.s.i. in the fork?
