im racing bear this weekend and im riding some pretty worn highrollers
i won a brand new one of these (http://www.suomityres.fi/bike/images/gazzaloddijr26.jpg)
and i have a stout for the rear that i can borrow from a friend for the race. my question is wether or not to run the gazza up front or keep my half worn highroller on, i cant put either tires on the back beacuse i run 24/26 and i imagine the conditons will either be really tacky or if it rains pretty muddy. and also wondering how the stout preformes on mud and if its a very fast rolling tire or not?
thanks

run the gazza man, they are good tires from what i hear, stouts suck, but it will be better than a half worn tire IMO

first off dyl, that gazzy u won looks balled to begin with, and a stout will make your bike weigh 12 pounds more.....dont be a bitch and just ride your tires
and that pic looks liek it has a lot more tread then the one u have?

A Stout and a Gazzi are going to be super slippery on the wet Bear course. There are some rocky sections that are going to be difficult with those tires.
You are much, much better off spending a bit more on good tires. It makes no sense to me to spend big money on a bike and then go cheap on tires, because it won't let you put all that expensive technology to work at its best.
You need to connect that big buck bike to the trail with good rubber.
Check out the wire bead Nevegals...These perform as good as if not better than many $100 tires, and are arguably the best bang for your buck tire on the market. They can be found at Overtime for around $60 each, and coming off what you have, they will blow your mind.
