It's cheaper to replace a dirt bike than something like a V10, etc.

Well you can get dirt bikes for like 800, 1500, 2000, compared to a bike where you pay over 5000

a nice, brand new 125 or 250 is usually 5000+

Bahahaha. That bike in the photo would run you around 7 grand new. Plus from a quick look i can see it has a after market pipe and some expensive Exel rims...

bike in the pic is an easy 8000 new. most guys pay 500-1000 getting their susp done, another 1000 into the engine, 500 into bars etc, and the retail on a new 250 is like 6500 plus tax.....4 strokes are like 8000 plus tax....

If you think about it,

MX bikes = wayyyyyyyy bigger market = make a lot more

Bicycles = smaller market = make less

ON AVERAGE, a decent 125 is only about $5000. Whereas your custom 38 pound DH rig would retail for around $6500 +.

thats the worst comparison i'v ever heard. Thats like comparing a norco wolverine to a full out 2006 MX bike.
bike-400
MX bike-8000

On average a MX bike is going to be alot more $$ then a MTB.

You guys suck at comparisons, the AVERAGE person doesnt have a $6500+ custom 38 pound DH rig... a decent 125 is equivalent to a DECENT mountain bike. For $6500+ youd get one hell of a mountain bike, where as 6500 would not get you a top of the line mx bike in most places.

on average a decent 125 will run you 6 grand man, than about 1700, for 2 trick susp, excell rims are like 800ish, pipe 3-600, engine easy 1000, bars 250, easly moto-x is way more expencive! and still thats not top of the line stuff, get into nickle plating the frame and other things, than your talking easy 10-15000 for a ride
