Bend, OR locals?

planning a trip in the future and was wondering if there was anyone who could drop me a pm about what to check out?

going to be doing one day of climbing at smith and a day or so of biking...im only bringing my hardtail so...yeah :)

Oregon has some AMAZING epic singletrack. It was years ago when I lived there...soo nice. Make sure to hit the three sisters area for some nice scenery and hiking.

Bend is fun but can get pretty dry and dusty in July - Check out the Hood River area for less hot trails and gorgeous scenery and maybe even Mckenzie River

Oh yeah...the MRT is a must, but make sure to ride it on a weekday...and not if it is wet.

Check out Prineville Adventure Park while you're there. A couple good DH runs in the works from what I've heard. If you're in for an epic check out the crater rim trail in Newberry Crater (caldera?). 26 miles long with two brutal climbs. You can section it off if you want- there are two epic descents that are well worth the climb. Also in Newberry you should check out the natural water slides that are carved out naturally in the volcanic river bed. Some company runs a BS tour of the slides but a couple questions should direct you to the location. I know that Bend has a budding freeride scene as well- the guys at the shops on the way to Mt. Bachelor are real friendly- try Hutch's or the Kona dealer across the street for some local knowledge. If your looking for dirt jumps, Vories just relocated to the Bend area and I know there's a track out there somewhere that he rides. Don't know if it's private or not... Check out Hood River if you're looking for some real riding though, their Post Canyon trail network is the closest thing Oregonians have seen to the shore- that's public at least...
