View Full Version : Video of whistler glc today
Heres a little video of me today at whistler doing the glc drop. This was my fourth trip to whistler EVER, and yes I do live in Vancouver and yes thats pathetic. I was trying to go as fast as possible off it, and still land it sucessfully on my hardtail

It looks like the bridge now allows you to carry way more speed into the GLC drop.
I think...
Before it was the berm to uphill...

I kinda liked the technicality of the uphill run in, blind take off, and off camber take off.
oh well, I'll button it until I try the new one. Maybe being able to carry more speed will be more fun.

they put the bridge in on the weekend.
it looks like u can carry a lot of speed! he just kinda floted off the end, didnt pump, and still landed a fair ways down the tranny.
looks like fun:dizzy:

the bridge sucks when its wet and muddy cuz there is no berm into the glc anymore so you can't carry that much speed into it
its deff. way easier now than it was before.

how is it deffinatley easier? like i dont get what makes it easier then coasting down a hill and up into a berm and off the glc by making a bridge in the same spot?? please explain

That bridge is there so that beginners don't have to merge with GLCers. They go under the bridge, we go over it.
I find it easier to hit now, with the bridge. I don't have to worry about speed anymore. I ride a ht as well, and found I got bumped around on the rocky run-up. Now though, I can just coast and hit it.

i actually find myself going slower because there is no berm now so you have to slow down while turning on the flat. but yeah it still works.

yeah.. it kinda lead u straight to 2nd glc.. u have to turn.. and easy does it goes under the bridge.

its way smoother (runup-wise) than it was before and it just seems that there isnt a turn anymore, just straight off. I thought that half the fun of it was that it was a turn straight into a drop....but what do I know.
what kind of hardtail are you riding?

Do you have white shoes? I was riding DM and ALine and I think I saw you there. Or at least a similar bike. I kept noticing your shoes though, and how white they were even though it was really muddy!
I'm aboard a little red balfa minuteman.
I don't like the bridge either. It does slow you down, especially when its wet. The old berm was totally railable and made the whole thing exciting.
