Yup, put a new bike rack on my truck. That was after I built a new flat deck and painted the frame and put new shocks on and..... So then 2 days later I get cut off by a mazda MPV on the way to SFU (I'm gonna do store fixtures for the new bike shop at Univer City) and the front end is destroyed on the truck. Oh well buy it back from ICBC and now its ready for paint except the day after I get my insurance cheque I get cut off again and this time they hit my flat deck. No damage but no witness so I'm down at ICBC again making a report. Not my fault again so I'm in my back yard 3 days later with Skylar playing with my Norco Moment when my upstairs neighbour bashes into the flat deck with her car when she's leaving. Doesn't anyone know how to drive anymore?
That was a week ago, yesterday. Anyone else want a shot at my truck?
Ok the first photo is the Bike Rack folded up into the headache rack.
The second photo is the Bike Rack down.
The last photo is my bike in the rack.
It works sweet. I use a strap to hold the front tire down and thats it.
What do you think?

Is it a two seater or a five seater?
(I'm just wondering whether I can get more riders and bikes in my Focus - just toying)

Basically a two seater but three easily enough and four if comfort isn't a thingy. I have over 15 bikes so moving them about has been an issue, until now.
nice work! btw, shuttling is ghey! ;)

That is a sweet rack!! I like it. I was thinking of a design for a bike rack on a utility trailer my buddy and I welded up. I think I might steal part of your design. Nice job!!

No I don't own a shop, most of my bikes are cruisers and BMX.
I only ride street so far, I've never been to the Shore.
holy shit paul, never been to the shore?? oh man you don't know what you're missing. i love urban too, but trust me, burning up the trails is where it's at. your son would love it too. i've been hitting burnaby mountain a few times with my 8 year old son and he's gonna be ready for the shore in the fall me thinks.

Good job on the rack. Do you have any disk clearance issues? Is your tire resting on your window, or is it otherwise braced?
I like the idea of folding it up for when there's no bikes. clever.
I'll have to post up my getto rack. (Later)

No disk issues at all and the tire rests against the molding holding in the glass. Smaller wheels rest against the body of the cab just below the window. The slot that the wheel sits in is the one with a small bar about three inches up from the bottom. That bar forces the wheel to roll backward into the rack so it doesn't want to come out. I also run a plastic covered lock cable behind the rack and a tie down strap through the front tire across the deck.
As for Ugly this is my work truck first, my bike truck second. I am self employed as an ornamental Ironworker and can use the deck for transport or work surface as I need.

Yup the bikes are worth way more than the truck, lol. The bikes don't move its pretty solid. ICBC has paid out almost 4000 from the collisions. Since the truck only has 195,000 original KM on it I thought I would keep it going.
