Coming up fast now.
NSMB Freeride Team member Barb Haley has been working overtime getting this one prepped. The BBQ's are pimped out and ready to roll. There's unreal food from Dave's on Esplanade, plus the usual gang of support.
The plan is to do lots of drainage work and hardening in areas with standing water. As a little incentive and reward for all you happy rock haulers, I'll be giving away a ride up the hill at 5pm to hit up our glorious fresh work.
Then we shall retire to the confines of the Raven for many pints and some live music.

If a mod could sticky this, it would be mucho appreciato.
saw the sign at the trailhead today, good way to get people out, and get those who cant be bothered to come to feel guilty :agree:

we should put a sign a 50 feet from our work area "trail day ahead, continue riding past this point and be ready to help out" its not like anyone is going to hike back up.

someone should have done that at the last neds one... people just kept riding by and not helping.

and then we can have a thread with a sticky in the photo/vid section called "the gallery of shame" and if the rider wants his pic removed, for every 1 trail day he cuts he has to come out for 2

Usually most people do stop and help. Often people stop and help at the first group they see and then end up having to ride past the rest. Or help groups lower down....

all you need to do is show up at mushroom lot. parking lot between end of CBC and start of Corkscrew.
even if you ride fromme, it's good to come out if you can. what if the next fromme trail day you can't make ... a day on Seymour is better than no days in the woods :)

I will try and make it out. 8)
As for people that ride by what if you hadn't ridden in 5 months because of work and family and this was your only chance to get out fot the next 5 months, you aren't going to want to stop and help work on the trails.

yeah, god knows 15-20mins of hauling rocks would ruin your flow and drive your family nuts!

...but if you don't, you never know, the next time you get out after the next 5 months that trail might be closed and decommissioned because it was impossible to keep up with maintaining it because not enough people would help on it.
Those 20 minutes of getting off and helping go a lot farther than you might think. Without it, you may not enjoy that once every 5 months escape.

Au contraire, mon frere......trail work is as fun as riding, and less money. Plus, if you come out and work, I'll run you up for a lap at 5pm, and you get free lunch, and free beer, possible schwag, and lots of new friends.
It just doesn't get any better than that.

free beer?
as for swagg....not what i'm there for, but it's always given away to people loafing around the food booth ect, and not to the people working hard buffing up thier sections a la last trail day on neds.......
either way a day hauling rocks is better then a day in the gym and i'm looking forward to it
see you all there

Yesterday I found on Pangor:
-a boba fett pez dispenser
-a little stuffed bull(who now lives atop my stem)
-one disc brake pad in good condition.
The groms gotta stop bringing their toys on rides.

Some great shots in there, Smoke. Well, except for the one of my ass!
Nice work on filling in those huge mud holes. That took a lot of effort.
