Me and my bro want to spend the day at Eagle, as a Fathers day gift to ourselves. I havent been for 3 or 4 years, and there is little in the way of threads.
Is it still there?? If so to what extent? Is there an updated map?
I got one off of gutsploder.com but it looks like the same one I used to use.
HELP!!! Being a new Dad, I dont often get to spend a whole day exploring so I dont wanna waste time getting lost.

:duh:

If you haven't been to Eagle in 3 or 4 years it will blow you away. The builders up there have done an AMAZING job!! 4 Lost Souls and the dentist are awesome:) Took a little trip down Fat Bastard recently and am impressed with the new work.

Gutsploder maps are excellent. Happy Fathers day man!! Have fun.

I just did my first ride on Eagle in over ten years.

4 Lost Souls, Massage Therapy, Manhandler, 3 Little Pigs.

Totally epic. More core than the Shore, so to speak.

Pics in a few days on the site.

It's a really, really tough climb (read hike) up (steep, with big babyheads all over the place). Shuttleheads just be warned... I wouldn't want to take a heavy bike. And it's really hard and reaaally slippery and reaaallly tiring. Have fun!

Definitely on the epic list.

Eagle is off the chart.

Anyone who thinks the North Shore where progression is happening hasn't been on Eagle.

Check out gutsploder:

Hope you like air!

I think I see where you're going with that. Don't.

That horse is dead and beaten. Let it rest in peace.

Obviously someone doesn't pay attention.
eagle trails are in rough shape and have been abandoned for a while,(i think because they aren't getting free shovels this year)
and gutsploder doesn't even work anymore.

Darryl, i dont think you know what your talking about, eagle is prime right now, and almost everytime i go up i run into someone doing maintenence on the dentist.

darryl is wrong. All the trails in eagle are being excavated for condos and a nice big auto-cross racetrack

Darryl's never even been to Eagle so I don't know what he's talking about. Typical misinformation on these boards. My new condo is being built at the old entrance to Massage Therapy, and I don't want no stinky bikers riding around my house.

i still don't get why anyone would ever need to ride trails other than what's on Seymour ...

I saw those guys up there once when I was hiking. They said they were going to rip down all those crappy stunts and return the Dentist to the dirtbike/quad trail that it used to be. They said they had permission from the GVRD to build a dirtbike trail network up there. I just bought a quad, I can't wait to take it up there.

I was there last weekend, and the dirt bag dirt bikers were ripping up the trails, tearing them to pieces. I saw one of them try to ride an old ladder, and with the weight of his damned bike he went through the slats, and totally wrecked the ladder!

they have a point though. eagle can't sustain the amount of riders that the shore handles. mind you...the climb up is enough to deter a vast majority of riders, thank god.

I guess you're right. Eagle is fantastic right now, every trail you rode a few years back had been completely reworked. Darryl and I will likely be working on the Dentist on Sunday, stop by, we'll fill you in on the goods.

Thats the attitude. Lets bash the tons of hark work the builders put into it.

Anyways, Eagle looks good. Is there 2 trails that have wall to wall set ups?

No trail up there at this time has wall to wall. The second wall on the Dentist was torn down by the dirt bikers. It was too gnarcore for their four strokes and they needed the wood for their cabin.

Lost Souls has a wood berm followed by a wall, but I wouldn't consider the wood berm a wall per se.

If it is your Father's day, I would definitely throw in a Fat Bastard.

my understanding is the builders of the trail had taken it out because only one person has ever done it so they were going to build something else.

ok.... thats mature.
Some of my favorite trails aren't "knarly", I just don't like to ride paved trails that don't flow. Do you get my point ?

Lots of people have ridden it, lots of people have crashed on it. We feel we can build something better that more people will enjoy for that area. Same reason we removed the elevated teeter.

To the builders of Ealge Mtn. I just wanted to say your trails kick ass!
I was fortunate to get a guided tour of Eagle last summer from KenN,
and two of the builders(can't remember their names right now)
We hit 4 lost souls, then went up to Massage, Manhandler, and
3 little pigs..that was 5 hours of epic riding. Hopefully I'll get to go there
again this year.

those pics only show one half of the mountain.

the main runs that most people do are 4Lost Souls > Dentist. or Massage > man handler > 3 little pigs

we do 4 lost souls > dentist and its always sweet. I want to hit Massage > man handler > 3 little pigs now that I hear about it.
