The local BMX track in Abbotsford welcomes any riders bmx /mtn whatever to ride their track.
We have a steep paved starting hill and have redone the bmx track .
The jumps are huge ,wide and a great place to practice your skills.
We also have a giant kicker which with enough speed can kick you up onto the back side of the starting hill.
A kiddy bmx track has just been made and will soon be done, great if you have a family day planned.
The plan to add a bicyle skills park in the S.E. corner will be pushed forward soon. low ladders and tetter totters, with some low skinny's and some kickers will round out the Bike Park concept of this area.
To date we have been so busy redoing the bmx track ,with rain rain rain.....
making this process go on and on.
The skills area will start off small and if it fits in and we don't get too many c omplaints we will expand.
YOU MUST WEAR A HELMUT. not that much to ask .
race days are sunday afternoon and wed. nights,
you can join and race (cheap $5 for the day)$75 ins. for the year, see cycling bc.ca (they have a page with this question and answers)
or not.
check out the gallery for pixs and schedule for race times.
Like the indoor if it's not racing times pegs ,barends, are ok.

Right on! Good to hear that there is a new facility being developed/renovated in the Valley. I like the fact that a kiddy track has been added...that is probably where I will be "brushing up" on my skills!

hey gary . . . would you ever consider putting dirt jumps in the park as well?

Dirt jumps? thats a easy one ,yes..
We will start off smallish and see what happens. If the city (read risk assement officier) doesn't choke when he see's them,we shall see what we can get away with.
Or in more political terms ,what's acceptable. I am so busy repairing and redoing (trails)at the moment, but each one down make's it sooner.
Abbotsford continues to have a great bunch of builders ,and dirt jumps in the bush .
you have Milestones/ the huge westend group (by the soft Taco)not to mention Jesse's huge road gap which is growing.
there will always be these fringe hidden dJ's as a local you most likely know of what I speak. And there are more.... Simpson school.. and more.
Personally done right I see no extra danger in dj's, Yes the huge road gaps are not for mere mortals , to watch the young guns go off these is a pleasure.

Hey Gary: got any trail work planned for this weekend? I got 3 or 4 able bodies that might have some time available.

We ride the abby trails enough that it's time to put more back. (Only helped out twice so far...)
