So who knows where to ride in ON for some fun technical riding?

I've done Buckwallow (1hr north of Barrie), Hardwood Hills (just north of Barrie - very XC but still OK), and Blue Mountain (funny name actually - kinda like Burnaby Mountain).

Anyone know of other areas in ON to ride? [I guess there's Collingwood but that may not be open due to the case with that lawyer]

Thanx

go to Ottawa and ride Fortune - (technically in Quebec but very very fun)- I just spent a year and a half living in Ottawa and lived at Fortune -- and you could also try Calabogie - check when it is open I heard rumours that it wasn't opening untill August this year - I know the O'cup finals are there so it is definately open in the end of summer....

Gonna have to look up some of these names... forgotten my ON map knowledge.

Is Mt. St. Anne good (worth the trip)?

I'm off to ON mid July to visit family and my bro (who rides) lives in Barrie area. He's a former XC racer now roadie but I've introduced him to freeriding and he's hooked (surprisingly since he's so into racing and fitness). I'll be staying in Barrie so long commutes will be hard and need good justification. I've ridden just the places I mentioned at the start of the thread - always looking for more (esp. since I'll be there for 2 weeks).

Thanx for the current info - other places?

My sister in Mississauga loves to go to Bromont (Vermont? NY?) DH lift riding, but I don't know anything other than she loves it, and got bored with Blue.

I think Porcupine ridge in Bracebridge, should be reopening soon, if all goes well with insurance.

Go to Quebec if you want good riding, on par with what we have for technicality. For ON, bring a lightweight XC hardtail and a road bike.

Forget Ontario. Come to Quebec and learn to ride rocks like never before. Mt Ste Anne (past Quebec City) is a long way but worth the trip. As a matter of fact, there is a Quebec Cup race there this coming weekend.
Bromont is 1 hr from Montreal, and Camp Fortune is right next to Ottawa 15 min from my house.

I don't own a light XC hardtail nor a road bike (and I don't like riding road - my bro is a roadie and took me out, even drafting I can't stay near him when he rides "slow" (for him) - besides it's all about the pain and not about the fun).

Actually Wayne I'll be riding a new frame - ask Scott what and why.

I don't really WANT to go to ON to ride - but I have to visit family and stay with them. Besides my bro lives there and wants to ride with me. ON isn't BC for sure but I have to work with what I got.

I'd like to hit Quebec - but it is a bit of a trip and I'm trying to avoid car rentals. If I had my druthers I'd be hitting Quebec and paddling the Ottawa too. If anyone wants to pick me up in Barrie and bike (or paddle) with me in Quebec or Ottawa - I'm in! :-)

It's like south of Montreal I think. It's supposed to be amazing riding, really tehcnical.
