what are the fast thin guys doing for Triple Crown?
They don't seem to be posting here anyways, or they are faking that they are Fat Slow guys.

Depending on where the card pickup points are I might do it on my road bike. :D

I haven't considered doing the triple crown until I read this. Hmmm... that would be way better for me, since I don't own an XC bike. It would be over much faster too.
Ill get some tight pink t-shirts that say " I rode the triple crown on my road bike" made up for you guys.

As long as we can get the matching bib shorts, arm & knee warmers too.
Oh and don't forget the hat that goes under the helmet.

I would also be into it if road bikes were allowed. However, I don't think the nsMBa will go for it.
Maybe we should organize an informal road double crown. Wouldn't you need a 'cross bike to do the full triple (Fromme)?

Doesn't it also depend where they give you the cards? If it's halfway down CBC, the roadie won't work very well.
you can bet if James is behind this race any roadie / shuttle sandbaggers arent go to be getting to far.

So seriously,
Who are the fast thin guys doing this on their XC bikes? I'm going to be riding my XC HT bike and I need to know how to get from mountain to mountain.
I'll probably just show up the day of the race and ride whichever way the mood strikes me... James told me that you can figure most of it out from the three shore maps anyways, right?

Well my thinking is that I will bring a pair of shoes then hike into any of the trails I need to get to.
I'm doing it more to be different and creative then to be lame.
It depends on where the check points are. If to many of them are in the middle of the woods then I'll go with my XC bike instead.

I don't think it would be lame at all. If you can do it on any bike, then why not right? I don't have all day to ride, so the quicker I can get to Dizzy the better.
I can fit fairly meaty cyclo-cross tires on my Devinci road bike, plus it has a triple (its a cheapo after all). I don't mind the gentle off road stuff at all, but I'll be hiking CC style if need be.

I salute anyone who can ride CBC (or similar trail) on a road/'cross bike. Not possible, IMO, without ending up with a wrecked rig.

Looks like a cyclocross or modded road bike will be allowed. Starts at 9, finishes at 5.

I think most people that could complete 3 mountains in one day could do it before 5pm. I like the idea of having a time limit. It works for the organisers and helps keep the doddlers on track.
My wife did it in 4.5 hours at a moderate-semi fast pace when she was racing XC. I think its reasonable for most us to do it within 6 hours. Depends on where that evil James plans on having the check points.
I may be doing it on my rigid with my buddies Bryon and Jason riding theirs too. They want to ride to the top of each mountain: Seymour - CBC, Fromme - Village Chair Lift Line, Cypress - ??? That's going to be brutal.

i've now been given a pass to do this! I was thinking:
Seymour - Old Buck - CBC - Neds - Bottletop 2.5hours
Fromme - Twin Bridges - Mtn Hwy - Village lift line 2.5 hours
Cypress - Cap Dam - Millstream?? Maybe by that time I'll be begging to go down the fastest way down the mountain 2.5 hrs
Then back to Dizzy 0.5 -1 hours depending on how beat I am.
Throw in 1 hour for rest and breaks so about 9 hours? 9 to 5 is
I don't think I'd want to subject myself to climbing via Skyline all the way so that sounds like a suitably punishing route.

What abomut riding the Baden Powell between moutains? Or even hike-a-biking it? I want to ride across the Lynn Valley suspension bridge for this race (kidding on this one)...
I still don't know what route I should be following. I'm just gonna show up and follow whoever is riding at a pace I can keep up to....
